Bullet to the head.

A 6-month-old baby had his testicles chewed off by two large dogs while he was left strapped in his baby carrier alone in a California apartment, CBS2.com reported Thursday.

Carrie McKinney, 22, was visiting her boyfriend Doug Ritchey's apartment and left her son in his car seat on the floor. After leaving the room, Ritchey's two pit bulls tore through the baby's diaper and chewed off his scrotum.

Police said the baby was taken to a local hospital and then to Loma Linda University Medical Center for surgery—but they were unsuccessful in trying to save his testicles.

McKinney could face charges of criminal neglect, and has lost custody of her son temporarily to Child Protective Services. Both pit bulls are scheduled to be euthanized.

Punishment? If the kid was carrying her DNA, it's more than likely that she did the world a favor.

Too soon?

yeah, his chances of growing up to be a normal productive human being have been greatly enhanced by traumatic castration.

ha! good point!

and of course, the pit bulls will end up being blamed for this since the media loves to portray them as naturally monsters. not the mother, or the crappy dog owner...

Pit bulls do have some natural aggression but it is also how they're raised. The ones with good owners are some of the friendliest dogs in the world. But unfortunately, a lot of scumbags and deadbeats own pits thus they're raised to be idiots.

as the owner/rescuer of 2 pit bulls who were bred to fight and should have this "natural aggression", it's hard for me to believe that it isnt ALL in how they are raised. as we have never had an issue. we also have a 20 pound female pug who DOMINATES them. theyre all great dogs. the pits are just incredibly loyal, and want to please, and it's the scumbags who take advantage of those traits and exploit them that give them a bad name.

they also have a TON of energy, and a lot of incidents are the result of lazy owners who do not walk their dogs, let alone get them the proper exercise. this creates a large amount of anxiety in the dogs and they are then more apt to act-out or act inapporiately because they were never given the attention needed to show them what is appropriate and what is not. theyre not socialized properly either.

ANY breed of dog will end up a monster if raised in those conditions. ANY.

our newest Pit addition loves cuddling with her sister. thats how they honestly sleep.

How the hell couldn't she have heard the kid screaming and the dogs too?

Well, sometimes when grown adults are alone together they have "intimate relations" with each other. And sometimes they can be loud enough that they won't notice any noises or disturbances. So that could be why they didn't hear anything.

Oh, and sterilize her also. With a rabid gerbil.

Is it just me or is one of those dogs NOT a pitbull?

BTW that woman should never again see the light of day let alone her poor son.

ones definitely a mix. but if it has ANY pit in it at all, thats all theyll report.

you know, the more i think about it, the first thing our dogs do when they get a new toy is rip open the stuffed animal and pull the squeaker out of it. wonder if thats what they were doing to the diaper, and the baby was just in the wrong diaper at the wrong time?

The owner obviously does not have a brain. If he trains them to be aggressive then he should not have them around little kids ... end of story.
