I have an ilk? Really?

You'd be awfully hard-pressed to actually demonstrate that I don't know what I'm talking about. Hell, I have doubts, based on the above, that you even know what I'm talking about yourself.

You don't as Conner clearly keeps bodyslamming you in his debates

Winston Churchill also knew what was wrong with socialism. "Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; socialism is the equal sharing of miseries."

I like Margaret Thatcher's better: "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

I'd go back to being a colony if we could have those two running the show instead of the lemmings we have in Washington.

We'll pay at the same tax rate, right?

No. Not the way it works right now. I make more, I expect to pay more. I think you are going overboard with this whole equality thing. Where does it say when it comes to the almightly buck, we have to be equal.

I think it's safe to say that I already pay a much higher percentage of my income in taxes than you do. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and pony of the difference and send them a check.

Who's the say I already don't?

You are on this board. That is demonstration enough that you are all bluster. You take yourself way too seriously Tom. For God's sake! you are arguing on the internet, let alone PPP on TBD, and you still actually feel that you are superior!

I wasn't going to respond.

Hope this helps your urge:

Anyway... Britian is one of the most socialized countries on the planet... Even during war time Churchill and 1980's Thatcher. They were all show.

So you agree then, in order to fix things you expect others to carry a heavier burden.

Yes. I always have? What is your point? I accept it when that burden is put on me. I did throw out the 15% thing earlier... But is it really feasible? Stop dreaming.

I just don't get what the attachment to money... especially mine is. This doesn't mean I can't or are not well off either. I do understand how people use it (money) for control and power.

When was progressive income tax put in place? Around WWI? Why all the crying and whining about equality now?

The attachment to money is because the government feels compelled to keep taking it away from the most productive citizens. Don't expect you to pick up on that nuance.

And yes, thank you for reaffirming that you're all for a shared sacrifice, when you fully admit that your proportionate sacrifice is much lower. Thank you for the offer to kick in up to 15% from the 11% you pay not. How about stepping it up to the 20's% that the evil rich are being asked to kick in, or to the 30's% that the super rich will pay?

I always like the people that say, "Money can't buy happiness." They don't have any either.

Along those lines, I've always felt that when people say "Money isn't everything" it was a sure sign that they simply didn't have any.

Away from those lines, I remember a great line by a comedian commenting that he was at a funeral, and heard some people saying "I understand he died penniless. Isn't that sad?" to which the comedian replied "Sad? Sounds like good timing to me."
