Lori
http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/04/07/1011...-on-albany.html Not often that Donn Esmonde and I see eye-to-eye on political issues, but ... They deserve it. They deserve every bit of what they are about to get. The I-got-mine politicians and life-term Albany legislators may not yet realize what it means when Carl Paladino catches your scent, gnaws on your leg and snarls in your face. They are about to find out—to the delight of everyone afflicted by Albany’s tax-inflating, job-killing ways. The pit bull of Buffalo’s civic landscape officially broke his leash Monday night. Friends, family, employees and “tea party” types filled his own Ellicott Square to hear Paladino launch a snarl-and- a-prayer Republican candidacy for governor. The short-fused millionaire developer, whose targets have ranged from former Common Council President Jim Pitts to the local business establishment’s Andrew Rudnick, now goes after bigger game. Paladino may be little more than an asterisk in the race. But whatever happens, his frontal assault on a state government that pummels its people should be entertaining. I feel like Flounder at the parade in Animal House: "Oh boy, is this GREAT!!!"

I feel like Flounder at the parade in Animal House: "Oh boy, is this GREAT!!!" Donny Esmonde (pronounced: S-mon-day as John Otto liked to say) sticks his finger in the air once in awhile to judge which way he thinks the wind is blowing, then writes accordingly. Don't get me wrong I like Carl...he's even a FB buddy, and those of us around here know how amusing he is. Still how much of a "reformer" can he be when he's recieved numerous tax breaks and other governmental assistance for his various projects over the years. Somebody's in debt to somebody here. It's that old "run government like a bidness" tired mantra again. We all know how well that's worked out for erie County with the embarrasing Chris Collins thus far. Bishop Hedd
On the other hand, just because the Tea Party is a fad doesn't make it a convenient dumping ground for every nutbag halfwit you disagree with. IDBillzFan
You did it, you found the all elusive smoking gun. I knew it. I knew it all along! Why, any day now I expect Michael Moore to release his new documentary "A Clockwork Fox News!"
DC Tom
What would you call it?http://mystateline.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=152155 You're kidding right? The last line of the story is "It's also reported Giusti has a history of mental illness and harassment." So CLEARLY the nutjob was brainwashed by Fox. IDBillzFan
Well isn't that a pretty apt description of the typical bagger!?! Considering recent polls by Gallup and Rasmussen show 40% of the Tea Party folks are Independents and Democrats, you may want to revisit your perceptions. Their list of reputable advertisers continues to shrink and this can't help. I'm sure Fox will survive. Just like they did when MSNBC talking heads like Tingles and Olberman spent weeks blaming Bill O'Reilly for the death of George Tiller. Just like they did when the President called out Hannity and Beck for being part of the problem. You don't completely own the cable news audience by millions of viewers and significantly suffer the slings of an 83-year-old woman defending her mentally unbalanced son who threatened to kill a woman who has an 11-percent approval rating. But it gives you hope, I guess.

The sledgehammer repetitive assassination of Pelosi day after day for as long as she's been speaker by Fox has been going on for years...yeah let's condone it even if her popularity approaches Gingrich/Cheney levels. IDBillzFan
What does the age of this woman have to do with anything? I suspect it's about as relevant to the story as suggesting Fox News caused a mentally unbalanced man to try and kill Pelosi.
