Chris Johnson 358 carries last season....Thurman Thomas...all the SB years...never less than 288 carries...Peterson 314 carries...all the great RB's get 300 carries or pretty close to it...and do great things...we run the ball 300 times with Lynch...we win...period...end of story...QB this QB that...Defense this Defense that....Lynch gets the carries...we win...guaranteed...Gailey gets him the ball enough and gets Freddy 200 carries or so...we are 11-5 easily

Lynch needs to lose 10-15 lbs and hit the weights. He looked especially big this past season and I think it hurt his game, he looked slow. I'm hoping the 2 strength coaches can get him in shape, he'll be a lot better off.

Look...I love Marshawn. I love Beast Mode. But in watching every game last season, I noticed something...Freddy J was just the better RB, period. Marshawn had this incredibly stupid stutter-step that he did almost every time he touched the ball, and it always ended up costing him a ton of yardage. Beast Mode was M.I.A. - you've got to be incredibly naive to tell me otherwise.

Don't get me wrong...I want to keep Lynch on the team, because I think he has what it takes to come back as a terrific running back. Watching his first couple of years gave me that faith in him. But the way he was playing last year, I'm glad we limited his carries. If he'd had the bulk of the carries, I think we would've been closer to 4-12 than anything else.

Well...

1. Lynch was suspended 3 games last season and wasn't ready to go in Week 4. It's called game shape.

2. After the suspension, he would have had to get the ball 25 times each game to hit 300 carries

3. The NFL is a two back league now, so comparisons to Thurman are not accurate. It's a two back league because defenders are bigger, stronger, and faster. Not good if you're even a 215# "beast."

4. Jackson was the better back, and sharing carries did not result in the sum being better than the parts.

5. Buffalo found itself down in late in a few games where running the ball wasn't their first option.

6. Dick Jauron was the HC.

I think what you meant to say is the Bills would've won more if Freddy got those carries. I Love Marshawn and I never would have said this before last year, but Freddy is the better back. Do you think ML can throw the ball though?

The thing is the RB takes more abuse then any other player on the team, their lifespan is shortened the more you utilize them, hence the emergance of 2 backs on almost every team and a 3rd down specialist to boot.

Freddy is very good no doubt, but he is also old by RB standards and will wear out quickly under constant usage.

I would start Marshawn Lynch and use Freddy as a 3rd down back and slot receiver. Having them both on the field at the same time would help disguise who is getting the ball.

If Freddy can get yards when there is basically no hole, like he did all last season. Then put him in space and he is a very deadly asset on offense and even more so then just at tailback.

Fred Jackson is one of the very few play makers on the team, get the guy the ball.

is eric studsville the rb coach? sorry im too lazy to look it up

i think lynch has the talent to be the 2nd best back in the league behind AP. lynch just needs to get rid of that random studder step he had all last year. hopefully a new rb coach will correct that

What he said. We won 6 games because we had horrible line play, bad quarterbacking, and couldn't get off the field on third down.

we didn't give this guy 300 carries...only 120 booooooo....

Lynch lost his focus! He let all the "stars and lights" of being a sports celebrity go to his head. He is just a plain "THUG" who got his big sports break in life and is going to Piss it all away!!! Oh he has talent...God given and he is blowing it! Can he be saved and salvaged...you bet..but only if he wants to. I HOPE HE DOES!!! I'm tired of teams catering to these monster egos! Play hard and get paid or cut them!! :flirt:

Lynch packed on 15-20 lbs of muscle and it clearly hurt his game. Never known for having elite speed anyway, the extra pounds really slowed him up. He needs to get back to his playing weight of his rookie year - 215. Marshawn, stay away from 230+ even if you believe that you've retained all of your speed and quickness..

Yeah I have to admit he looked like "ghost" mode this season...never really got into the groove...but he also only carried the ball 120 times...over the span of twelve games that's ten carries...far too light to get into the groove...

I do not agree Jackson is the better back...nor will I say Lynch is better than Jackson...they are EQUAL almost perfectly in ability...

and YES Lynch can throw to...watch some college clips...he's got an arm...

I also agree he lost focus...but shoving the ball down his throat 20 times a game will get him focussed in a jiffy...and I'm not against the two back system...I think Jackson should get 20 carries to...yes I want both of them to carry it 20 times a game and rack up 300 carries a piece...DOMINATION...seeing as how a decent offense gets 60 plays...you throw it 20 times to...not bad...ooooooooohhhhh if only I was an OC...I'd have Beast Mode, Jacked Up, and Playaction alllllll damn day...the defense would just quit they would be so sick of getting smashed in the mouth over and over and over again...F Jack and Lynch would each get 1300 yards...it would be BEAUTIFUL...
