Gotta love when people with money has evidence against them, then it mysteriously vanishes or something like this happens.

"An attorney for the Georgia nightclub where a 20-year-old woman accused Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting her said security footage from the evening of the alleged incident was recorded over, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Thursday."

I read that the tape would help Ben's case not hurt.

Well according to that article the tape showed Big Ben with the girl at about the time the girl said it happened. And ESPN just said basically the same thing on Sportscenter. So I dont know how in th world that would help Ben

"Cansino said a member of Roethlisberger's entourage recorded his own video inside the nightclub, where the quarterback and eight to 10 friends went to celebrate his 28th birthday. According to Cansino, the footage shows Roethlisberger with his accuser around the time of the incident."

What a joke...oh well.

Phase 1: Complete.

Phase 2: Discredit Big Ben's accuser. I'm sure "reports" will soon be coming out about what a nut case, drunken whore Big Ben's accuser actually is.

Gee, why might a bar owner want to destroy a tape that shows a bunch of underage people in his bar, as opposed to giving that tape to the police?

Actually... the video tape was in police hands. They where "watching the tape at the station then they got a call and they responded, they came back and the tape was recorded over" according to ESPN's report of what the police department told them.

So goes your theory

Someone got paid big bucks unless this hicksville PD is on the order of Mayberry with a Barnny Fife running the show. My money says its the former.

This brings to mind an age old question, what was Nixon thinking?

It is not impossible to recover data from a video tape that has been recorded over. It can be expensive, but it is doable. A quick internet search came up with quite a few data retrieval companies, guess they don't have Google in Midgeville...

What is strange is that the article said it was a DVD to start with and then later it calls it a tape.
