Just Jack Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 This is a cargo ship This is a warship Any questions? Somali pirates attempt attack on Dutch warship
Chef Jim Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 The two skiffs were destroyed and the pirates were set free on the mothership after it had been cleared of weapons Don't we hang them from the yardarm anymore?
Steely Dan Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 They should not have let them go and they should have captured the mother ship. JMO

PushthePile Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 When are we going to get a video that ends with Pirate chum floating in the water? These teaser stories are agitating.
DC Tom Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Cargo Ship; http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/attachme...-310507-004.jpg The Dutch Warship The Tromp; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hr._Ms._..._%28F803%29.jpg It really is harder than people think to identify a ship at sea from a distance. Not a lot of detail (gets washed out in the haze), and usually no visual reference for depth perception to guess the size. But it's harder still when you're stupid. Really, guys...carry binoculars or something.
dib Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 sink the mothership too. take the pirates back or let them swim back to somalia
ACor58 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 They should have "set them free" in the middle of the ocean and made them swim back.
/dev/null Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 They should have made those yellow bellied scurvy infested blowfish walk the plank and send them to Davey Jones Locker Yarr!
KD in CA Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Why on earth would they have not taken the opportunity to sink all the ships and reduced the pirate population by a few?

Really, guys...carry binoculars or something. It's like when we used to go sailing of Orange county. It was great to listen to the radio warnings from the Navy ships to boats. "Come closer and you're !@#$ing toast"
DC Tom Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Why on earth would they have not taken the opportunity to sink all the ships and reduced the pirate population by a few? North Korean registered ship. International incident, despite being crewed by Somali pirates (and despite it being North Korean).
Booster4324 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 North Korean registered ship. International incident, despite being crewed by Somali pirates (and despite it being North Korean). "We didn't harm the ship or crew, just separated them by a few miles..."
Jim in Anchorage Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 North Korean registered ship. International incident, despite being crewed by Somali pirates (and despite it being North Korean). And NK would have done what? Economic boycott of The Netherlands?
DC Tom Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 And NK would have done what? Economic boycott of The Netherlands? Not like that hadn't occurred to me, but...c'mon, we're talking about the Dutch.
Booster4324 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Not like that hadn't occurred to me, but...c'mon, we're talking about the Dutch. They didn't want to risk their whole navy?
dib Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 "We wont buy any more chocolate from the runniing imperialistic dogs!"
Nervous Guy Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Don't we hang them from the yardarm anymore? at least keel haul them!!!
