Keukasmallies
Adding to the field of political thought, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has rejuvenated the concept of "deeming" wherein an action is assumed to have been approved if an amendment to that action is approved. While it may have a dubious application in the current health care imbroglio, I'm liking the whole idea. For example, no matter what happens during the upcoming Bills season, I shall deem them to have a 11 - 5 record and be eligible for the playoffs. 1billsfan
I deem Barry, Nancy, and Harry to be traitors to the U.S. and that they should be treated as such. Pelosi will get her just "desserts" after the 2010 elections... http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jeff-poor/201...losi-impeachmen "According to Bachmann, this is such an egregious maneuver by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, to force through health care reform using the Slaughter Rule, as known as deem and pass, that it warrants her impeachment from the post. "That should laugh her out of the House and there should be people that are calling for impeachment off of something like this," Bachmann continued. "That's how bad this is. I mean, trust me - Dennis Hastert could have never gotten away with this. President Bush never could have gotten away with it." But if anything, Bachmann contended this could be a teachable moment in civics for the country. She explained this is what happens when a one-party dominant rule occurs - an abuse of power and the trampling of the United States Constitution." Gary M
An alarming combo of stupidity and arrogance. Just go ahead and wipe your collective asses with the Constitution. Here is an interesting piece on the constitutionality of it. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0310/34508.html The most interesting part of the article to me. More Hypocrisy "Any challenge likely would be based on two Supreme Court rulings, one in 1983 and the other in 1998, in which the court held that there is only one way to enact a law under the Constitution: it must be passed by both houses of Congress and signed by the president. In the more recent of the two rulings, a 1998 decision striking down the line-item veto, the court specifically said that the bills approved by both houses must contain the “the same text.” Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.), for whom the procedure under consideration by House Democrats is now named, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) filed amicus briefs arguing for the result the court reached in the line-item veto case." I would also like a redistribution of talent in the NHL. I would like Doughty added to the Sharks defense. Brendan Morrow up front for us. Now both Dallas and the Kings will not receive any compensation for this and they will continue to pay out their contracts as well. I really believe the Stars and Kings should show courage and do what I want. I would also like it deemed that Heidi Andro as my wife and Jessica as my concubine.
