Steely Dan
2 solid 3-4 guys. I like it. Hopefully this quells some of the negativity and despair around here for a while. Can I have a glass of whatever you're drinking? Nix I was wrong about you. I thought you should have acted faster to get more solid low profile free agents in town. BUT you manged to get solid value in free agency as well as get more proven 3-4 talent into the front 7. I like both of these guys they add depth and both can contribute to the new D. I would like Nix to add a WR to the roster like Coles and a D-Lineman who can play in a 3-4. Either get a vet NT or a DE who has played well in a 3-4. I think adding some talent to the O and another piece on the D-Line should be the goal for the rest of free agency while the draft becomes the focus of the rest of the offseason. Also what is going on with the QB situation is Edwards the guy, is Fitz the guy, is Brohm the guy, do we seek a vet in free agency, or are we going to draft a guy? The FO won't tip their hand but its such a pressing issue that there is no read on. Also another target for the Bills should be Akin Aydole formerly of the Fins he has 3-4 experience in both Miami and Dallas and can play MLB and OLB would continue to add depth to the linebacking core much like the Davis signing did. Also the guy is only 30/31. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-b...ley&prov=ap ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—Don’t expect Buffalo Bills coach Chan Gailey to choose a starting quarterback anytime soon. Having evaluated the three quarterbacks on his roster, Gailey said Tuesday he anticipates holding an open competition to determine who will win the job. And Gailey didn’t rule out the team selecting a quarterback in the draft next month, or the possibility of acquiring an established starter in a trade or in free agency. “We’re trying to leave no stone unturned,” Gailey said during a brief availability with the media at the team’s headquarters. “Unless something different happens between now and post-draft, to me it’s an open competition for the job and we’ll see what happens. … We’ve got to see who can rise to the top.” John time to call call him out on it if it's not true. Let's get to the bottom of this. I demand instant clarification on the matter otherwise I may not be able to sleep tonight. Seriously though, thanks for your time on the board - it's nice of you to take time out to give us your thoughts. EDIT: Looks like you're off the hook. I was hoping for a "Tweet-down", if you had an account. Ummm...I..I...I agr...agre...agree. Th-th-th...anks JW. I'd much prefer a ho' down!! http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/rav...with_bills.html this explains it welcome to the bills buddy Woo! Woo! Wooohooo!! Tortured Soul
for what it's worth, this Baltimore reporter is saying nothing is finalized, but there IS a deal and talks are continuing. http://twitter.com/RavensInsider Note the details on Davis' contract - 2 years, $4.4 million. Quite reasonable and doesn't force the team to start him. Good contract.
Steely Dan
http://www.nfl.com/players/dwanedwards/profile?id=EDW667014 Nothing to write home about but definitely A GREAT signing for this team right now. He should help smooth the transition to the 3-4.

oak tree 12
If this is right and I have my doubts because of the conflicting reports, it is absolutely a great move and reeks of savvy on the part of the FO. These guys are the perfect type of players to get when in rebuilding mode. Guys who have experience, want to have a leadership role, and will most likely be OK with platooning at their positions instead of out-right starting. They will help to create and foster the new culture. I'm starting to wonder (not that I'm advocating it) if they might try to focus on "playmaker" type players more than people think in the draft. In SD, they seemed to go that route in the draft in earlier rounds. Definitely down-grades some need areas from terrifying to solvable. the post from lombardi is old. and their forum the national football post is down for servicing. he is definatly signed. its been reported by schefter and espn. the article from the post was written this morning i know because i read it this morning. dont worry he is a bill! Kingfish
Maybe we made an offer, Edwards didn't sign it, and then he went back to Baltimore and had second thoughts and decided to accept it? That would mean nothing is official until he comes back to Buffalo.
