Kids love to rebel, and, with this family obviously laying it on way too thick that's almost sure to happen. Also, this kid could barely get the words pronounced, which make me think: they aren't his. So, why are people lavishing praise on him? He's going to have a tough time in high school if he keeps getting undeserved praise/credit for work he isn't doing. To me, that's the big threat here: when little Johnny realizes that academic achievement requires...achievement, and not just saying prepared words a bunch of sycophants want to hear, and now he can't produce.
