Maybe the restricted free agency market will be heating up, after all.

Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports that Chargers quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, a restricted free agent, has received offers from both the Cardinals and the Seahawks.

Per Wyche, Whitehurst will make a decision on his next team with the next 48 hours.

Whitehurst has been tendered at the third-round level, and it appears that the Chargers won't be matching whatever deal Whitehurst takes. As Wyche points out, the Seahawks don't have a third-round pick in the 2010 draft. But the Seahawks and the Chargers already have discussed other compensation that the Chargers deem acceptable.

So it apparently comes down to Seattle and Arizona as the next stop for a guy who hasn't appeared in a regular-season game in four years, who has never thrown a pass in a regular-season game, and who has undergone a Serpico-style transformation from this year to this year to this year to this year

I guess Buddy didn't like him

It will be intersting to see what the terms of the contract turn out to be

If anyone would know about this guy, Buddy Nix would. The Bills apparently are not going after him. That says a lot.
