silvermike
I guess we weren't ready to outbid them. I'm not sure he's worth more than that. http://twitter.com/JasonLaCanfora/status/10441258205

sharper802
wow ! If would bet our offer was better than that I'm sure the money the FO could have offered was better. The chance to play for a title next year, or the year after that probably was the difference. And that is the state of your Buffalo Bills. Can't even get a middle to low tier FA to come. And to think we had hopes of Cowher, Shanahan, Wilfork, Dansby.... What a joke...
DanInUticaTampa
I was expecting him to take some bigger money. Not saying he was worth a big contract, but it seemed like he was going to be a player that somebody was going to overpay. I bet if he continues to get better he can still get a large contract when his two years are up. I hope this means the bills have their eyes on someone better than him. But I am glad they looked at him and brought him in.
silvermike
I'd say that Hollis Thomas and Grady Jackson are the only remaining UFAs with the heft to play NT. They're both old men and I'm not sure if either actually have NT experience. Any RFAs out there worth looking at cost at least a #2, which is more than I want to pay for that bunch. I think we're looking to the draft for NT.

BillsVet
wow ! If would bet our offer was better than that 3 mediocre UFA's in. 2 leave without signings a contract. Pro personnel and Overdorf are working wonders this year. Jimmy Kennedy said he wanted a chance to win so he signed with a team that could have a chance if Favre returns. People know the Bills are in full on rebuild mode and not going to win more than 5 games next season.

John from Riverside
Seriously just stop bringing in free agents and start aquiring picks..... We will biuld through the draft So Jimmy wanted a chance to start? R.I.G.H.T.
San Jose Bills Fan
Seriously just stop bringing in free agents and start aquiring picks..... We will biuld through the draft So Jimmy wanted a chance to start? R.I.G.H.T. Yep. In his post-visit interview he stated two things...that he'd like to be a starter (and this is still possible with both members of the Williams Wall still awaiting a decision on their suspensions resulting from the pending verdict in the Starcaps Trial)...and that he'd like a chance at a ring. Most likely he played the Bills for a few extra bucks in Minnesota. I suspect the Buffalo offer was better than the Minnesota offer but that it was not good enough to make him sign here. Minnesota might have even told Kennedy and his agent to visit elsewhere to set his market value and that they would determine if they could come close to it. Oh yeah, there was also the issue of playing in a 3-4 after playing his whole career in a 4-3. Oh well, he would have made a nice addition. R.I.G.H.T. Kennedy wanted a chance to win, get paid and not move his family. Pretty simple, and he probably got more than Buffalo was offering. How does this team intend to acquire picks? They've got nothing anyone wants in trade, unless Lil' Donte fetches a 6th or 7th. Who else on this team do they have the depth to trade? Getting rid of Lynch means they've gotta find a backup. Perhaps they could trade someone out of the secondary, as that's the only place Dick Levy could build. At some point, fans need to admit to themselves that not signing free agents they bring in means something is wrong.

If we had given him that contract, the posts would have been "What a joke - we bring in a 1st round bust and call it an answer at DT"
