Beerball
I'm obviously going to be seeing a specialist, but my ENT recommended a BAHA. I was hoping for something a bit more 'subtle', less obvious. If anyone has experience please feel free to share.

When I search, I get "bahamas", Baha'i" etc.
Barry in KC
My wife's aunt (87 years old) had one implanted 2 years ago. She was totally deaf. It's worked very well, although it takes about 6 months to adjust. She's very happy she had it done. The technology for the attachment has improved over the past 2 years as well. ieatcrayonz
Dude, my guess is that this stuff is a result of your spiral vaginitis so I hope everything goes well. Whatever you do, give it a lot of thought and research. Mr. Limbaw aka Alaska Darin has cochlear implants so you may want to ask him. One thing to be sure of: Make sure whatever you buy has an on/off switch. Can you imagine being able to just flip a switch when code name Ennifer Janiston starts yammering? PromoTheRobot
I had my middle ear rebuilt after the removal of a tumor. A titanium pin replaced my stapes bones. I have about 40% hearing and wear a hearing aid. I also have what you could call a booster aid in my other ear. They help me understand words and not blast my TV but they will never replace your natural hearing. A word to the young: don't blast your ears out. You'll regret it later. One more bit of advice: If you suffer from many ear infections, fluid behind the eardrum, and a steady loss of hearing, tell your doctor to check for a cholesteotoma. My doctor wasted 2 years before considering that possibility and they barely caught it before it before it started growing into my brain.
