They use the $68 Billion of borrowed US Debt to bribe local school districts into doing what the central government wants them to do. This is NOT what the fore fathers had in mind!

...I'm confused....how can you deny the effectiveness and prowess of the Department of Education that has us lagging behind most industrialized nations?...isn't THAT a feat unto itself?...

That's just over $1,000 per k-12 kid per year based on 56 million k-12 students.  Heck if half of that was deposited for each kid each year in a conservative investment, it would make for a nice start on a college or other secondary education fund for each student and tie the award to graduating high school.
