/dev/null
So there were a few problems with flights being delayed in the news Government to the rescue!!! New law set to take effect next month hits the airlines with a stiff $27,500 fine per passenger if a flight is delayed more than 3 hours on the Tarmac. So now instead of delaying flights the airlines will start cancelling them http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/business/Airlin...s-87181947.html

KD in CA
Good. Airlines have absolutely no right to force people to stay on a grounded airplane for an indefinite period of time with no communication, no accommodation for basic provisions, unsanitary conditions, etc. The airlines have screwed the pooch one too many times on this issue and deserve to be heavily punished if they can not run their business in an even remotely competent manner. Don't minimize the issue when these morons have left people sitting on planes for 6, 8, 12+ hours at a time with no plan for how to handle it. And don't be fooled with these empty scare tactics from the airlines. They aren't canceling flights over this; it just forces them to do what they should be doing anyway -- leaving the passengers in the terminal if they can't get their sh-- together within THREE F---ING HOURS. A 3 hour delay is a hell of a lot different than a 3+ hour delay while sitting in the plane, and that's what we're talking about here.
