Howard Stern gets it right

Recommended Posts

Who is Stern to comment on peoples' looks? He is one of the ugliest human beings alive. I used to like Stern and don't mind him but his career is made off making fun of dysfunctional people and pornstars. At least this girl will be remember for being great in a movie that moved a lot of people.

I don't think a show has gone by in the past two decades where Howard hasn't mentioned how hideous he looks or what a mess he is. His show is about brutal honesty and Howard often turns that microscope upon himself.

I've come back to Stern somewhat because he's a great interviewer. I turn the dial when the discussion turns to some feud between whack-packers or when he gets whiny. I also hate the Howard news and aftershow because it's nothing but masturbating over yourself. Maybe hard core fans dig it.

PTR

I turn the dial when it's the porn star (which is more rare on the show than ever) or the Howard TV girl of the month. It's so played out and always the same questions.

Was about to post the same thing. Howard does not try to fool anyone into thinking he is "beautiful". He accepts his looks and went for a career in radio.

I dont think his statements were an attack on the girl as much as they were an attack on Hollywood. Howard knows show business, and it is a cruel, looks-driven world.

There is nothing wrong with telling the truth. And the truth is, there aren't many roles for morbidly obese people. Viewers dont want to see "ugly" people on TV. That's a Hollywood fact.

He wasnt bullying her, as much as he was calling out Oprah and others for building up this girl's expectations while pushing her into the lion's den filled with the biggest scumbags in the world.

Gabourey Sidibe Lands Her First TV Gig

She may not have won an Oscar for her breakout role as a seriously abused inner-city girl in the critically acclaimed film "Precious," but that didn't stop Gabourey Sidibe from getting new work within days. Reuters reports Sidibe has landed a recurring role in Showtime's dark comedy "The Big C." She'll play a wisecracking student in the series, which also stars Laura Linney as Cathy, a teacher with a new lease on life after learning she has terminal cancer.
