After the season ended, I was hoping we would hire a 70 year old GM, a mediocre ex-Georgia Tech coach and somehow we could possibly land Cornell Green in free agency. All my dreams came true. Buffalo ---superbowl 2011!!!!

Stay the course gentlemen! The media and many chicken little/ midol needing fans are going to whine and complain about free agency etal, screw em. Great teams are built though the DRAFT. Free agency is to add a player here or there when you are on the edge of making the playoffs or being a superbowl contender, not when you are rebuilding.

There are no huge impact guys that were worth the money and the mid tier guys so far brought in...well two of them decided to play somewhere else. This is honestly to be expected. We are rebuilding. WHEN we are starting to look like a contender THEN we will get free agents to play here. You know at one time FA's were easy to get to come to Buffalo like Spielman, Paup, Sam Adams etal. Once we build though the DRAFT and get close, it will be that way again.

Now the whiners will talk about cheap Ralph etc, while ignoring we have always spent to the cap or damn near it. They will whine and B word about us cutting salaries and being below the cap 'floor' of old while ignoring a perennial playoff contender in Carolina who has had a complete fire sale. They fail to recognize that high spending teams like Dallas haven't really signed anyone either. They don't' understand a lockout of 2011 is most likely coming and there is no reason to run up a ton of money on has been players. They also don't' understand that the owners are showing that they are done having huge salaries on their roster. But no....it is much easier to blame 'cheap Ralph'.

Build this team through the draft, re-sign and keep our own guys that we develop and lets do this thing right!

You're right. No need to get over-the-hill guys to impede the development of the young players already on the roster.

They could have traded for Brady Quinn and went after that Franchise LT in the draft in the 1st two rounds. The Bills have a lot of holes and it is going to be impossible for them to fill all that in the draft.

This all seems to indicate that Gailey is sold on either Edwards or Fitz. While Fitz did win some games, he was horrible.....Edwards had a very good year in 2008 only to fall apart in 2009 thanks to ....so many things....I hope he can resurrect his career with Gailey.

Trading for Brady Quinn would be like buying a used car. Sometimes you are just buying another person's headache. We have Edwards/Fitz. I don't want to trade for some other shaky QB, thinking we have addressed that situation, so we can go on to the LT need. We need to get a QB, a LT and a NT in Rounds 1 - 3. I don't care what order they come in. Somewhere in there, we need a new QB, however. I don't care if it is Clausen in Round 1 or LeFevour in Round 2 or 3. We need a QB, and we need some luck, for a change.

GOD! why do people keep sucking edwards d$%k ??? oh I mean vagina. Ive watched so many old games just to see him pass to the flat and then to the back. All 5 yarders. HE DID THIS BEFORE THE CONCUSSION! its just that defense didnt know what a vag he was and it worked for a while. He has no heart and that will never ever change.

3-13 and Jake Locker, here we come. :)

I've never seen him play, but what is the fascination with Locker? He's never thrown over 60% completions, even though his YPAs being quite low shows he doesn't take many risks.

Completion percentage: 47.3% to 53.8 to 58.2

YPA: 6.29 to 5.51 to 7.09

21 TDs : 11 INTs senior year (and worse before that)

Not particularly good. There was good reason that he went back for another year. If he improves a lot then he would be worth something, but until then, no thanks.

Or that they understand they are at the beginning of a rebuilding process and don't expect to turn it around this year. That is the explanation that provides the most hope for Bills fans, because it's realistic.

When you have some unblocked guys running at you a 5 yard pass is much smarter than a sack or throwing the ball away, JMO

That's right, the best teams never use free agency other then adding "a player here and a player there", right? It's all done through the good old draft. Like this year's SB winner, the Saints. They drafted MVP of the game Drew Brees back in 2002.....oh wait a minute, no they traded for him, right? Or they signed him after the Chargers cut him, either way, here we have a SB MVP QB playing on a team that didn't draft him. Gee, I guess you can say the same thing about the Cardinals rise from the ashes, after they brought in Kurt Warner as their QB, no drafting him either. And oh, would you not want Tony Romo as your Bills QB? Free agent rookie signing right there - once again, the most important position on an NFL team NOT DRAFTED. The Chiefs suck, and they are rebuilding, but they don't seem to subscribe to your theory as they continue to bring in free agents - Scott Pioli seemed to find some "success" building the Pats, don't you think he "knows what he's doing??" As Pioli continues to fill gaps with more free agents then your "one here and one there", do you think he's jealous of the smarter Buddy Nix NOT brining anyone in?? You think the Chiefs fans are pissed off that Pioli continues to try to improve his team by the use of free agency??

I'm not a Nix hater. But the man has done just barely over NOTHING so far. He's arrogantly ignored the talent that other teams have signed in free agency. Other NFL teams that are also facing the BIG LOCKOUT IN 2011.

So now, we all have to wait for him to have the best draft in Buffalo Bills history, right? Well I'll wait and see what kind of team takes the field in September. If you are one of the idiots out here that think a 2-14 season is a "step forward" when you have free agency to avoid 2-14 seasons, then there is really no hope for you. You will never demand this team to make the playoffs.

Ask the Dolphins fans, the Falcons fans, the Ravens fans, the Cardinals fans, the Saints fans. Ask them if making the playoffs and then regressing a little the season after isn't BETTER then not making the playoffs at all!!

Who do you see in FA, at any position, that is on par with Warner, Romo or Brees? Signing FA's for the sake of signing someone is an absurd way to run a railroad. If the Bills suck this year, but then are very competitive for the next three, I'll be glad they didn't sign a lot of scrubeenies this offseason.

To say the team is going to suck two weeks into FA and before the draft is a little silly, IMO. I trust Nix's instincts on these things. If you want to use the argument that Pioli has built teams in the past, so has Nix. There isn't one way to build a team.

Why do you think Quinn is any better than Edwards, Fitz, Brohm? What has he done? Better yet, look at what Cleveland

got for him: a fullback and a 6th round pick. If any team thought he was any good, Cleveland could have gotten

more for him. Just because there are QBs that play for other teams, it doesn't necessarily make them any better

than what the Bills already have.

I am not saying that I am satisfied with the Bills' QB situation, only that adding another mediocre QB to the bunch

wouldn't help much.

I was using a little sarcasm my friend. :) That will be what every analyst on ESPN and NFLN will be saying about us when the season is getting ready to open. I, too, have made posts just as yourself about the guy on a number of occasions.
