Do we need a late round safety?

Newton rocks UB pro day.

"Roosevelt had a good workout, but Newton wowed NFL scouts by running the 40-yard dash in 4.46 and 4.48 seconds, according to some teams' stopwatches. Those times would have been the second fastest among safeties at the NFL Scouting Combine. He also had a 41-inch vertical leap, a 10-foot broad jump and had times of 6.94 and 4.17 seconds in the three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle, respectively"

Allen Wilson's story.

"But the consensus at UB's Pro Day was that Newton enhanced his stock considerably. The Indianapolis Colts have invited him in for a private workout. More teams are likely to follow suit."

Bill Polian sure likes UB players. Considering this pro day happened right in the Bills fieldhouse maybe Buddy Nix ought to take a closer look.

I'd take a flyer on him with a later pick. I'd also be happy if the Bills went after Naamon at the same time.

Likely they will both wind up in Indy. The Bills don't seem too supportive of the UB Program.
