WVUFootball29 Posted March 1, 2010 Share Posted March 1, 2010 From my reliable sources deep with in the corporation: CUSTOMER IMPACTING COMMUNICATION: Central New York Remaining Buffalo Sabres Regular Season Home Games Available Wednesday 3/3 in HD on Channel 1050 This CIC impacts the following customer groups: TWC Business Class Residential x All Customers February 26, 2010 * CIC Topic: Remaining Buffalo Sabres Home Games on SABRE Channel 1050 in High-Definition beginning Wednesday, March 3, 2010. · Description of issue: We’re pleased to offer our MSG+ HD customers the remaining 9 Buffalo Sabres regular season home games beginning Wednesday, March 3rd on an alternate channel, 1050. MSG+ does not currently have the rights to broadcast these home games from the HSBC arena, therefore they have been subject to blackout. We have been given permission to acquire the live HD feed from our Western NY Division who is already receiving the signal from the Arena. * Impact: o Residential Impact: This channel (1050) will have the call letters of SABRE, however will only have live programming from the HSBC arena and will be blank on the off hours. Customers may wonder why the screen is blank when there isn’t a game. Note that there will not be any guide data available for this channel. These games will not be shown in the Montrose, PA system in accordance to NHL blackout policy. IMPORTANT NOTE: Since this temporary SABRES channel will be offered in a switched-digital format, CableCARD customers who wish to view it will need to use two-way capable digital cable equipment, such as a digital set-top box or a CableCARD-equipped TiVo or Digeo HD DVR used in conjunction with a Tuning Adapter. · Time Frame: Beginning on Wednesday, March 3 the remaining games will be available. Here is the home game broadcast schedule for the remainder of the regular season: Wed 3-Mar Washington at SABRES 7:00 Fri 5-Mar Philadelphia at SABRES 7:30 Wed 10-Mar Dallas at SABRES 7:00 Fri 12-Mar Minnesota at SABRES 7:30 Wed 24-Mar Montreal at SABRES 7:30 Fri 26-Mar Ottawa at SABRES 7:30 Sat 27-Mar Tampa Bay at SABRES 7:00 Wed 31-Mar Florida at SABRES 7:00 Tue 6-Apr NY Rangers at SABRES 7:00 * Effective 4/1 -- TWC does not have the rights to carry MSG + SD & HD in certain counties so the following systems will be losing these on channels 49 & 801 respectively: Alfred, Boliver, Dansville, and Friendship. In addition, MSG+ HD (801) will be removed in these systems (they don’t have the SD): Jamestown, Fredonia, and Sayre, PA. · ICOMS Issues: N/A * Talking Points: o Time Warner Cable is pleased to offer hockey fans the remaining Buffalo Sabres games as part of our continued efforts to provide you with the best in cable programming. o We apologize for any confusion experienced as a result of this change – but you should still be able to view games on another cable network that has the rights to a particular game. Sadly we won't be seeing NFL Network anytime soon, if ever on TWC. The two just can't play nice and TWC has been stuck behind the 8-ball the past two years with station contracts constantly expiring and those stations threatening to pull a LIN TV on them for more money.
