bkc Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Jet expected to give Leon second-round tender Posted by Evan Silva on February 27, 2010 7:03 PM ET According to Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News, it's "believed" that the Jets will use a second-round tender on restricted free agent Leon Washington next week. Though Washington is coming off a fractured fibula and tibia, he would generate interest on the restricted free agent market if tendered at the original-pick level. Washington was a fourth-round selection in the 2006 draft. If not for the injury, teams probably would've given Washington a long look at the higher-level tender. The second-round tender is worth roughly $1.8 million. According to Cimini, the Jets expect Washington "to be ready for opening day." Washington is likely to be New York's No. 2 back behind Shonn Greene in 2010, while also contributing in the return game. Incumbent starter Thomas Jones is expected to be released It appears as though Leon washington is coming back close to full speed. It would be great if we could count on Eric wood for next season
mjohns85 Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 It appears as though Leon washington is coming back close to full speed. It would be great if we could count on Eric wood for next season pretty sure woods break was much worse. also wood weighs much more than l washington does so i dont think they have anything in common in relationship to recovery time.
aristocrat Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 trade marshawn and pick up jones so he can stick it the jets for a year.
KD in CA Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 trade marshawn and pick up jones so he can stick it the jets for a year. What team would give up value in a trade for Lynch when they could just pick up Jones as a FA themselves?
