DC Tom Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Lamar Advertising recently rejected a bus shelter advertisement that would have revealed the character Lucy the Slut’s furry pink cleavage. That sentence is just wrong in all the right ways.
thebug Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 That sentence is just wrong in all the right ways. I could just see the line-ups at Walmart come Christmas time. "mommy, mommy, all I want for Christmas is Lucy the slut".
KD in CA Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 I could just see the line-ups at Walmart come Christmas time. "mommy, mommy, all I want for Christmas is Lucy the slut". I'd prefer Michele the Slut myself, but either way is fine.
Bullpen Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Yep, that's my home of record now. Colorado Springs, Evangelical, knee-jerk, ultra-conservative capital of the world.
Astrojanitor Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Sexual puppets do make the kids uncomfortable. In a cult film class a couple years ago I screened the epic 1975 hardcore pornographic puppet movie "Let My Puppets Come." The students saw a lot of felt ruined that day. I had one kid say i scarred him for life. wimps.
The Dean Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Lamar account executive Jeff Moore said he has a simple test to see what’s appropriate for bus ads and billboards: “If I have to explain it to my 4 year old or my grandmother, we don’t put it up.” They must put up very few ads.
Chef Jim Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I'd prefer Michele the Slut myself, but either way is fine. Yeah, like in the heat of the moment you're going to call her by the right name anyway.
