Beerball Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 A rare copy of a comic featuring the first appearance of Superman sold yesterday for $1 million, the highest price ever paid for a comic book.
Booster4324 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Poor Nicolas Cage just can't stop can he...
Chandler#81 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Interesting that the seller and buyer have 'Secret Identities'..
Chef Jim Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Not quite in the same league but I bought (actually a gift from my wife) a book for $350 about 15 years ago. I just saw a copy of the same book at an atiquarian book show for $6,000. Now that book had an original dusk jacket and my has a facimile jacket but I've seen those for as much as $1700. Add a letter from the author and you're talking $30,000-$40,000. Collectibles have some incredible ROR but I don't think I'd ever sell any of my books. If anything I want to buy more.
