Thurman#1
They drafted Ron Brace last year out of Boston College. He is very highly thought of, and looked good when he played in place of Wilfork this past season, against us.http://www.patriots.com/team/index.cfm?ac=...o&bio=33654 They also have Myron Pryor who they are high on as well. (also played against us) http://www.patriots.com/team/index.cfm?ac=...o&bio=33661 I think they are fine at that position...once again, giving them the ability to trade a big player for good draft picks. *PAY ATTENTION BUFFALO! (if we have talent worth trading?) Both those guys are good prospects, not actual players at this time. The Pats* need Wilfork.
wide_right
if we picked him up now we'd have to give our #1 in this year and next year's draft. is he worth it? given our crappy drafting record, A B S O L U T E L Y
Pine Barrens Mafia
Any of you rejects that thought a Wilfork or Hampton was going to end up in Buffalo, this is the wake-up call. The Pats are too smart to do something like that, and the Bills are too much of a joke to pull off a coup like that.

NewHampshireBillsFan
I'm just happy that NE* has this headache to worry about. Either they end up overpaying somewhat to get him a long term contract he is happy with or he plays the year under the franchise tag and is disgruntled to some degree or they trade him and then have to figure out how to replace him in their already declining defense. The nice thing is the NE Patsies* peaked a long time ago and so did Belichick* and Brady*. It won't be a sharp collapse but a slow decline as each year the struggle to be an elite team gets tougher and tougher for them. New players don't pan out as well and older veterans retire or sign elsewhere. They begin to get more and more desperate for the draft to give them players to fill much needed slots (kind of like the Bills). It will be a joy to see this process unfold year by year. If and when the game refs stop giving the Patsies* the favorable calls in most games they will really be in trouble. But the good news for them is that is still a long way off. They will still get all the calls for a while longer.

Even the Raiders would have known that it's worth franchising a top NT for just $7M.

Exactly my point. There were people here counting on Wilfork hitting the FA market.
