bbb Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Wow time does go faster when you get older. I was on leave in Switzerland at the time, and all the action was back here in NY.. It really does - I can't believe I'm almost three times as old as when this happened!
KD in CA Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I thought I just read that the US hadn't beaten Canada in the Olympics since 1960. US didn't play Canada in 1980 -- they were in the other division and didn't make the medal round.
Guffalo Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I was at Niagara University, we were having a Friday party after classes in Unity park, plenty of "refreshments". It was broadcast over canadian tv, we saw it live on a 20 inch black and white TV. Great game, great night of partying. The next day I met the girl that ended up becoming my wife.
dib Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I have very fuzzy memories of this as a kid since I was only 7, but what a great sports moment. I loved the film "Miracle", too....I get chills every time I see clips of this game. First tiem I saw it, i was in a theatre with a box of snow caps, during the Russian sequence I noticed I was crushing the box. I thought to myself Dumb@ss you know how this turns out.
