FluffHead Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I'm going out on a limb and saying Culpepper will be the Bills' starter in 2010. Free agent, big arm, wants another chance to start, is somewhat mobile, seems like a Chan Gailey kind of guy, allows us to focus on other needs in the draft this year. I think it makes a lot of sense. What say you?

He may still have something in the tank, but would still draft a guy this year too. Keep Edwards, rook, and daunte. Wouldnt be ideal, but couldnt be worse than the last 10 years.
evilbuffalobob Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Please, don't. Here's a fun old term to ponder: Washed-Up Jeff George wants another chance too.
peteski Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Lets sign a quarterback that is worse than the three that we already have. Where were you when they were interviewing GMs. We missed out on a good one.
CarolinaBill Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I'm on the culpepper war wagon, Honestly, If we can get 2-3 solid yrs out of him, it frees us up to actually develop a young QB behind a real Player (former MVP). And although Ive been a Lefevour guy this whole offseason, I think that if you bring in culpepper, you should looks seriously at jarrett brown from WVU big arm, quick release, 6-4 223, a great kid to line up behind Daunte and take the reigns when culpepper is done. This would free up alot of space to build the lines this year and next year. we would go into camp with 4 qbs daunte, fitz brown and ???with the backup battle b/t fitz and the winner of TE vs. BB. Sounds solid to me, or we could sub Lefevour for brown, but brown is, in all honesty, more "our" type of QB.

Where were you when they were interviewing GMs. We missed out on a good one. I never said I was for or against it. I said it makes a lot of sense and I could see them doing this. That being said, you honestly think this team is better with Trent, Fitz, or Brohm as the QB rather than Culpepper? With our personnel and the kind of system Gailey has run in the past, Culpepper is a much better fit.
Pete Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 no !@#$ing way! Anyone that goes on MNF and states they play Celine Dion to pump them up for the game- no thanks PS - he sucks! When was the last good year he had?
reddogblitz Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 When was the last good year he had? 2004 - 39 TDs 11 picks 110.9 QB rating 4,717 yards 69.2 % That said, I say bring him in. He's the same age as Payton Manning. I was watching the Thanksgiving game with Detroit vs whoever. Stafford was hurt and they said Culpepper was going to start. Then at the last minute they pulled him for Stafford. They said Culpepper was livid. He wanted to play so bad and was psyched. He's got something to prove and he doesn't have too many autumns left. He's hungry and has had serious success in the past. I insert him in at #1 and open it up in training camp. I go into the season with Duante, Fitz, and rookie. The only way Trent gets into the game is if he buys a ticket.

Let's model our offense after the chiefs, sign muhsin Muhammad, Shaun Alexander, and Culpepper. Sounds silly doesn't it. Stop dreaming and making this ridiculous threads everyone. Just because florio says something, it doesn't matter lol. culpepper....seriously?

Its not many, and of those slim pickins, Culpepper is probably the best of the bunch, remember he sat out a yr, so if he can give us 1-3 yrs as a solid starter, while we groom a replacement (Lefevour, Brown, etc), we're in better shape than we are now. TE and Fitz are not the answers
Nanker Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Daunte Culpepper - 298 career sacks in 10 years. His best game-as a Dolphag - I remember it well. Sacked 7 times in a 16-6 loss... to The Bills! Just say NO to Daunte.

Mister Defense Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 If the Bills would like to get really bad, return to the 2-14 seasons of the 80s, then they should just follow the adivce of some on this board, as in this example. I cannot remember the last time that Culpepper had a good game, let alone looked anything like a starting NFL quarterback. The kind of move the Bills did in the mid 80s, pre-Polian. NO Vick, Culpepper, McNabb, Garcia... NO WAY!
Beebe's Kid Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Said this a couple months ago. Seems like our stop-gap QB to me. Seems like a stop-crap QB to me.
Hazed and Amuzed Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Culpepper is a turnover machine, with fumbles being his specialty. Playing outdoors in Buffalo won't be easy for Culpepper who has unusually small hands for a QB, he also is a deer in headlights when it comes to a pass rush. No thank you to Culpepper. BTW has he ever done anything without Moss?

BYGD1 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Why do some on this board always want to pick up other Team's Garbage, we will never get any better that way, we are better with what we have and take this year to build both lines and Pick a QB next year in draft, Come on Wake up
profile Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I heard this guy named Vince Ferragamo is looking to break back into the league... he was a superbowl QB once... you never know
