DPR4444 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Brad Butler informed the team he is retiring from football.
BillsWatch Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Not surprising considering he appeared to have better options out side of football.
truth on hold Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Not surprising considering he appeared to have better options out side of football. like what? another blow to an already devestated oline
bills_red Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 great now add another need. Butler why the !@#$ you doing this? you can play
Peter Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 That sucks. He was our best option at right tackle.
BillsZubaz Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I wonder what the reasoning is. Maybe his injury is more severe than we know, maybe he has other nagging injuries and doesn't want to have continuing health issues or maybe he does have other options. Too bad, this is a blow to the o line.
BillsZubaz Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Incognito will be signed shortly I agree, but not because of this. Incognito is not to my knowledge a tackle, which was Butler's current position.
Dr. Trooth Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 great now add another need. Butler why the !@#$ you doing this you can play? Whether Butler came back or not, the Bills still needed a real RT. He realized that with Levitre, Wood, and Incognito he was going to have to earn a spot as a guard, cuz he sure as hell can't play RT.
DaGimp Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Incognito will be signed shortly should be signed regardless

Too bad, this is a blow to the o line. so much for the "rehabs going well" reports. this all but GAURANTEES we take an olineman in Rd1, and probably another in 4 or 5 too
kota Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I wish him well. He made the transition to Tackle very well. I personally believe that the Bills offensive line issues started when he went down.
bills_red Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Whether Butler came back or not, the Bills still needed a real RT. He realized that with Levitre, Wood, and Incognito he was going to have to earn a spot as a guard, cuz he sure as hell can't play RT. You listed a G, C/G and a C/G.
Pete Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 that sucks. Wasn't Butler rehabbing with Wood? This team is a mess!
berriesandcream Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Just got it. Great, another hole to fill. I wasn't sold on him as RT anyways.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 man when I read this I immediatly figured injury is worse that suspected and he is tired of the injuries and rather do something else. Cant blame him life as an OL isnt a long one
DarthICE Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Come on guys, RT's are not that hard to find. They mainly run block and that is it. Butler is not a loss at all.
JohnC Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 He wants to go into politics. He is a smart kid who graduated from UVa in political science. Every offseason he has takened advantage of the league program sending players to intense business seminars at schools such as Harvard and Penn. I'm sure the constant battering on the field and the accumulating knee injuries has helped motivate him to finding a less brutal occupation.
