ajzepp Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 This was a great moment. Someone posted earlier that we all saw what the elitist lesbians are really like once they saw thay had been "U-Turned". The vitriol they have against other people, not just Brent & Caite they also made remarks about Jet & Cord as well, and their general attitude was sickening. Brandy & Carol are prime examples of the term, "Ugly Americans". No doubt....there have been a few examples of "ugly americans" on this show, and each time it happens I just wonder what they're thinking now after watching it all back (if they watched it at all). The most asinine comment I've heard on the show - and more than just once - is when they're in non-English speaking country and they say, "these people are so stupid, they can't even speak english" I'm seriously embarrassed for the PARENTS of these idiots when they say things like that. On the other hand, you get many more teams who truly appreciate not only the challenge of the race, but the different cultures of the world. I remember one time when that mother with the deaf son were traveling in a taxi through India...here you have a young man who is hearing impaired literally SOBBING over the poverty and poor living conditions that the children were in outside the taxi. The contrast between that and the way he himself would be viewed back here in America was just fascinating to me. That kid had a huge heart. The thing I love about this show is that you can't really go into it with any sort of strategy or facade, because the intensity of the race will strip you down bare to the core and will expose you for who you really are. You can't really say that for any other reality show and I love that aspect of it.

And even though there may be alliances, a team is not going to hold back and wait for the other team to catch up. It's still everyone for themselves.

So true....alliances are typically really short lived. They'll start a leg of the race aligned with another team, and then the minute one team falls back, the other team is like, FUGGEM! lol I also really like when you have teams who have never even been outside their own state, let alone the country....and they get so emotional about having the opportunity to see the world. There was a husband and wife "redneck" team on a few seasons back, and they were great to watch. When they got eliminated, they both broke down in tears and talked about how they'd remember the experience for the rest of their lives. Dang, I would LOVE to be on this show!!

Just Jack Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 Oh thank God the detectives are still in it. I couldn't stand a final 3 with both the idiot models and the gay/hetero brothers.
Dante Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I want to do it also. The show I mean. My wife and I would really like to do it as well. We kinda watch the show like we were playing it. Who would do what task and so on. Also which one of us would screw up like mis reading clues. But the cowboys are looking so solid. They have the right mentality for something like this. Calm, reasonable and focused. They manage to keep themselves level when things go wrong. Hard to see them losing but in the end it could all come down to a bad cab ride and your done
GoodBye Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Go cowboys! I pick them to win it! I'm digging the one with the dark hair.
Just Jack Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 Possible spoiler.... In the TV Guide listings for next Sundays show, it says "Cowboys, models, and detectives, oh, my!" Could mean the brothers get eliminated tonight.
Dante Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Something really has to go wrong for the Cowboys not to win. It really is an advantage being so even tempered like they are
ajzepp Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Finale tonight! Go cowboys! I don't want the gay brothers to win (not that there would be anything wrong with that). The biggest annoyance for me on the show (which, ironically is also something that makes the show more interesting to watch) is when one or both members of a team either start yelling at the natives or throw some stupid 2-year old temper tantrum and make a display in public. When that one brother started acting like he was losing his mind in the taxi, and seemingly about to physically beat up the driver, I lost a lot of respect for them. I wanted the detectives to win, but now the cowboys are my favorite. I wouldn't be all that upset if the models won, but I just don't see that happening. It'll be either the cowboys or the gay brothers.

It'll be either the cowboys or the gay brothers. Yes, that is an annoyance for me as well. The models were doing that tonight and I would have been pissed if they won. I was rooting for the cowboys to win because they played a fair game from the beginning. I was really hoping they could kick the gay guys asses to get back at them for what happened at the airport. Oh well, it was a blast watching the show, as always! I gotta get on this show!
Mark Vader Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Damn!!! I so wanted the Cowboys to win. Oh well, they ran a great race and they did win some great prizes along the way. They will be the team remembered from this race. WOW, once again we got to see just how classless Carol & Brandy really are. Like I said before, they are a great example of "ugly americans".
Rico Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Bitter disappointment at the cowboys not winning. I thought for sure they would pull it out at the end, but they have no one to blame but themselves, they really blew it at the virtual reality challenge.

They should have pushed their way to the goal instead of waiting, and gotten a hint from the one guy spinning that it would help slow down the words.
Dante Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I'm still laughing about the black haired lesbo still bitter and still trying to drag that poor Caite girl down. Still trying to point out how dumb she is but the bimbo was still standing at the end. If the lesbos had a ounce of personality and were not so bitter they wouldn't have gotten u turned. I really didn't have any negative feelings about the gay guy and his brother until they pulled that douchey move at the airport with the back pack.
Fezmid Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Yep. They should have pushed their way to the goal instead of waiting, and gotten a hint from the one guy spinning that it would help slow down the words. Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't just move THROUGH the guy. Especially when they said, "the gloves are off" at the airport. Lame.

Totally agree, man...the ability to U-turn is part of the game. If you're going to act like a classless biatch, then you run the risk of someone taking it personally and U-turning your asss. For her to use the friggin FINALE as a small soap box opportuntiy was totally classless and embarrassing. Dante: I agree about the douche move at the airport...I was hoping that there would be some reason that Phil would tell them they were penalized for something along the way, and they had to take a 30 min delay in checking in, lol....at first I thought because they were in first class that was against the rules, but I think it has more to do with the ticket they buy than it does where they sit on the plane...don't remember.
ajzepp Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Yep. They should have pushed their way to the goal instead of waiting, and gotten a hint from the one guy spinning that it would help slow down the words. I know, why the FUG did they think that the dude was spinning around for half an hour trying to prevent himself from throwing up? Obviously he was doing it for a reason....thought for sure the cowboys would put 2+2 together there.
