wide_right Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 How about a shout out to our many fine local musicians. I'll start with Guitarist because we all know Billy Sheehan wins Bassist in a landslide. So let's hear Guitarist. Can be any style just please specify in response.
MattyT Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 "Western New York" TY I used to take lessons in Rochester from a guy named Steve Cunningham. He was an excellent guitarist. Found a video! Looks like mostly does lap steel nowadays, but he crushes it pretty good in this one.
truth on hold Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Perry Novak from the Falls was outstanding. He could play anything.

TheMadCap Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Tommy Tedesco wow! This guy is the greatest living guitarist that most people have heard, but never heard of! Didn't know he was from WNY. As far as locals go, there is a guy named Johnny James that is a pretty good blues act...
MarkyMannn Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Go see Dan Kaplin with HNR. Guaranteed good time.
Wooderson Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 There's a band in the area, Aqueous, they all went to the same high school as me and are all a year younger than I. They are pretty damn good, IMO, and they play pretty much all classic rock. The guitarist, Mike Gantzer, really knows how to rip. If you ever notice 'em out a bar sometime, check them out, you won't be disappointed. Website: http://www.aqueousband.com/ YouTube: www.youtube.com/user/AqueousBand
