ExiledInIllinois Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 I have now personally witnessed one instance of the "stuck gas pedal" syndrome...on our '09 Tacoma, with my wife driving. Mechanical (as opposed to electrical) issue - the pedal itself didn't recover to a "neutral" position when she took her foot off it; she had to tap it to free it up. Still didn't overpower the brakes, though. Exactly what I have been saying about the potentiometers on our electric carts. Yet, those seem to stick in the other direction... The cart won't go until you tap all te way down. I noticed... Cushman actually has been putting out a revamped design/vendor to those faulty parts. This is very much a potentiometer problem and the faulty design they use!
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 6, 2010 Author Posted April 6, 2010 How much are you going to sue for? A lot if she would have paniced and hit your child... I suspect you would be sueing too. How high and mighty people act when tragedy is not related to their life. Lose a love one or kill an innocent person... Or perhaps spend some time in the clink becasue the jury thought it was your error/fault. Let's see if you suck it up. Sorry if I misread your post meazza.

DC Tom Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 You do realize you agreed with DC, then contradicted his statment with your own. It's a Tuesday...
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 You do realize you agreed with DC, then contradicted his statment with your own. Yes. So. The point was to bring up the faulty design that they are using. Boy it sucks to be Toyota because they are sticking in the wrong direction. It doesn't matter where the freaking thing sticks.

It is electrical, not mechanical.
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 Are sure you know what a potentiometer is? It is electrical, not mechanical. Yes. There are mechanical aspects to it. Actually there are digital ones now replacing the older mechanical ones.
meazza Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Could we have an investigation please? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/100409/busi...mpany_gm_recall Maybe get congress involved?
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Could we have an investigation please? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/100409/busi...mpany_gm_recall Maybe get congress involved? You talk like it is "your" Congress. Maybe Canada should investigate. Oh.. And rightly so. They should very much look into it and take GM to task!
DC Tom Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Could we have an investigation please? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/100409/busi...mpany_gm_recall Maybe get congress involved? ""loss of braking effectiveness due to brake line rupture because of corrosion" in the affected vehicles. [...] The investigation involves 1999 to 2003 model years" Wait...you mean brake lines can corrode with time? That's not a vehicle failure; that's an owner failure. Maintain your !@#$ing car properly, you dumb *****.
John Adams Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Exiled--you're about to post a link to this right? http://money.cnn.com/2010/06/08/autos/gm_w..._heater_recall/ The cars keep catching fire so they finally decided to do something about it. I'm sure Congress will call Union-friendly GM for questioning any second.

I'm sure Congress will call Union-friendly GM for questioning any second. I didn't see it yet... But thanks...!! I usually don't post stuff like this outside of the Toyota stuff and the reason I posted the Toyota stuff was because of that company's "golden child" status in the eyes of many. Again, thanks! They should treat them all the same now. Nobody should get special treatment. I never once questioned what people may want to buy and for what reason. What always bothered me was how Toyota would supress their warts. Of course everybody has warts and they should be exposed. GM is no different. That is all I am judging. Toyota's by no means are junk... Either are all the rest of the vehicle makers... In fact they are all the same.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Also... It has been only two years. How long has Toyota been surpressing their warts? Decades. Still two years may be too long... But still, they seem to be addressing it in a reasonable amount of time... Unlike say the sludging issues on Toyota's that almost took a decade.
KD in CA Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 I didn't see it yet... But thanks...!! I usually don't post stuff like this outside of the Toyota stuff and the reason I posted the Toyota stuff was because of that company's "golden child" status in the eyes of many. Yeah, because there's no "golden child" status for GM in the eyes of union stooges.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Awesome. They addressed it right off the bat back in 2008... WITH A RECALL... YET are still having problems. What gets me about the Toyota (especially among the rice burners) is that they go into denial right away. That is the only reason I bring it up. You really don't see the domestics dodging the issue (as much) by making the cutomer feel guilty that they are doing something wrong. Again.. Everybody has warts. In my experience, domestic companies tend to me more lenient when accepting blame... They would honor their warranty even outside the milekage/time period. What I have a beef about Toyota especially is how they fight tooth and nail against a problem. I am glad you are turning it into a pissing contest. This isn't about which is better. It is about how a company handles complaints.
ExiledInIllinois Posted June 8, 2010 Author Posted June 8, 2010 Yeah, because there's no "golden child" status for GM in the eyes of union stooges. AS usual you are a planet far, far away from the real working world. GM hasn't had "golden child" status since when? The early 1970's? Late 1960's? Typical KD BS... You just want to make your petty grudge against labor stick.
