ajm Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 George Edwards. Per Adam Schefter's Twitter: Filed to ESPN: Former Dolphins linebackers coach George Edwards will be hired as the Bills defensive coordinator.
scribo Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I thought the Florida Gators just hired him to be their DC.
ajm Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Haven't found anyone else reporting this anywhere but Schefter.
BEAST MODE BABY! Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Someone had suggested this earlier....that it would be the new Florida DC.
Huuuge Bills Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 His wiki page. He coached Stroud and Richard Seymour in college, has had a few jobs in the NFL.
Captain Hindsight Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Edward...rican_football) according to Wikipedia he just accepted a job as D cordinator at florida
BillsGuyInMalta Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Do we get Joey Porter fitted for his Bills uniform now or...?
bills_red Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ve-coordinator/
ajm Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Looks like he took the Kiffin route: one month at Florida and onto another job.
scribo Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 "Five-Star Floyd" is going to be pisssssed! http://rutgers.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1037814 What also helped make Floyd's decision a little easier was that he has already talked with Florida's new defensive coordinator George Edwards, formerly of the Miami Dolphins. Floyd said Friday he's impressed with Edwards' credentials and NFL experience. That was one of the big keys in getting the 6-foot-3, 310-pound prospect to Gainesville.
Peter Griffin Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Well...I suppose if he's good enough to coach the Dolphins inside linebackers, he's good enough to be our DC!
Fewell733 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 did he join Florida before or after Urban Myer said he was taking a leave of absence?
bills_red Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 "Five-Star Floyd" is going to be pisssssed!http://rutgers.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1037814 Yep, I was pissed to since tOSU was in the running for him. We needed a big time DT.
5 Wide Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hence the wait for knowing who it was.... the announcement came just after Nat'l signing day for colleges
Chandler#81 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Looks like he took the Kiffin route: one month at Florida and onto another job. Let me qualify this by saying I'm a big Gator fan, but this stinks of recruiting shenanigans. Lure young kids to Gainsville under the guise of coaching continuity -even with meyers expected LOA- then bail the day after Signing Day.. Otherwise, I've never heard of the guy..
Preston Ridlehuber Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Interesting that Maybin's mentor. Levar Arrington, had his best season undwer Edwards.
scribo Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Hence the wait for knowing who it was.... the announcement came just after Nat'l signing day for colleges Yep, and recruits should remember that in the future when considering Florida.
Fan in Chicago Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 With Dallas while Gailey was there. Surprised? So are we now GT North, Steelers North or Cowboys North ( ) ?
