From Football Outsiders, via the Bills site:

Florence ranked seventh best in the league among cornerbacks in yards allowed per pass with a 5.7 yard average. His success rate of 62% ranked eighth. For comparison the top ranking corner in both categories, NY Jets’ Pro Bowler Darrelle Revis, had a 3.9 yard allowed average per pass and a success rate of 72%. Below is the explanation of success rate by Football Outsiders as well as the top 10 list.

Success Rate, to remind everyone, is the percentage of passes that don’t manage to get at least 45 percent of needed yards on first down, 60 percent of needed yards on second down, or 100 percent of needed yards on third down.

What's more alarming to me is that we let #2 Greer go to get him

D-Fol was brought here to be a back-up who can play. He was cheaper. Greer was also hurt like the whole year.

This solidifies it but we didn't need the stats to see that Florence played quite well and consistently this whole season. Really happy with his production both as a tackler and in coverage as a guy with a little more size to match up with the taller WR's.

Anyone else find it interesting that three Jet CBs rank in the top 7? I wonder why that is.

Stats can say anything you want them to say and vice-versa.

Not to knock on Greer who's been an exceptionally good player, but the guy only played in 9 games this year for the Saints. A couple of games which came against really bad passing teams. 2 games against the panthers. Vs Buffalo,NYJ,Det,Miami and than Atlanta the Giants and Philly. Yeah his stats look good for a 9 game span, but it's probably a little overblown.

Yes that helped, playing on a team with a good pass rush didn't hurt either.
