Planet Hollywood - Vegas

I'm going to go to Vegas in April for my 25th bday - first time ever going there. I've been researching different hotels, and everything I've seen points to planet hollywood. They seem to cater to the 20-30 crowd, have good prices, right in the center of the strip, have nice rooms, and a great casino.

Anyone ever been? Is it a good choice?

Thanks!

I've never stayed there(usually stay at Bellagio or Caesars), but it has a good casino and a good buffet. You are right about the location---and its right across the street from the new "City Center" that just opened up a couple of months ago.

When I was in Vegas a few months ago, I saw Peepshow starring Holly Madison at Planet Hollywood and it was it was a good show.

Live it up out there, brother! Have a great time!!

Holy Crap I thought you were an old man Bluefire. Anyway, I'm 26 and when I go I always stay at the Wynn or Mandalay Bay....both great hotels. I don't know who you are booking your trip through but I went last Summer with some buddies of mine and I got a plane ticket (from STL) and three nights at the Wynn for $550 each (there were 4 of us, 2 in each room). I use Southwest.com Vacations. If you decide to go with Planet Hollywood it will still be a good choice....after all you really are only in your room to sleep and if you are like me that will be about 5 hours the whole weekend.

Don't worry -- everywhere on the new strip caters to the younger crowd. There will be crowds of 20-30-year-olds no matter where you go. The Mirage has a decent breakfast buffet for one of the best prices. I recommend splurging on a lunch/dinner buffet at the Bellagio (which is practically across the street) -- amazing. As far as hotels go, I'll stay only at the Bellagio. Clean and class. No other hotel/casino I have been to in that city compares. That being said, I haven't been in the new City Center. A friend of mine said she got bed bugs at the Venetian, fyi.

Planet Hollywood is great, but honestly, I've stayed at the Flamingo as well, which is older, and it's still a great time regardless. Like STL Bills said, you are only in your room to sleep. As long as you are on the strip, you are in good shape

I stayed there a long time ago when it was still the Alladin. Rooms & casino were decent, but can't comment on the entertainment facilities since most everything was closed due to their bankruptcy.

You should be ok now.
