FluffHead Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I saw that. Whitner responded and said he was going to give the tickets to a Bills fan down in Miami. I follow both PFT and Whitner and I get the sense Florio is not a fan. They had some dispute over something this summer that I don't remember as well.
Rust Belt Nights Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Throwing his quarterbacks under the bus, fights in Cleveland, mediocre play, and now welshing on fans? Whitner is starting to bug me
sllib olaffub Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Well, if Whitner asked PFT to run the advertisement, and only afterward changed the requirements, that's pretty cheap. Since, though, PFT is run by a lawyer, I would think he'd have some evidence of that before he started bad mouthing Whitner. If he didn't, he'd be in for a sure fire case of defamation... so, it should be pretty clear - if PFT is true, Whitner won't be pressing charges, and if Whitner is telling the truth, I can't see why he wouldn't.
The Helmet of Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...icket-giveaway/ Donte Whitner is an idiot. I stopped following him on twitter months ago. This doesn't surprise me at all.
Dawgg Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Whitner's latest Tweet: @Profootballtalk yall suck....my followers are here to stay.....chumps! What a standup guy. LOL
Chilly Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I'm kind of on Dante's side on this one. I entered, but I knew exactly what he was doing: if no one got them exactly, he wasn't giving them away.
BuffaloWings Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 This whole thing reminds me of the WKRP episode where Johnny Fever misread the contest announcement to say $5000 instead of $50.00 to the winner....then made the "guess the songs" medley nearly impossible to win. I loved that show. I have a feeling Whitner didn't expect to actually get 10,000 followers, but he should have had a plan all along in case he did. Sounds like yet another idiot move of his to get attention.
BillsVet Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Whitner's latest Tweet: @Profootballtalk yall suck....my followers are here to stay.....chumps! What a standup guy. LOL Donte is like the little yap dog that doesn't stop. When the Bills release him, he can keep those 10k+ followers because it won't matter. Brilliance from Levy and Jauron on that one. But he had a lot of "football character."
Tortured Soul Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 who cares. People who visit message boards at 1:50 in the morning.
JPS Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I've been violent twice on draft day: 1. When Bills picked John Fina instead of Carl Pickens 2. When they picked Donte Whitner, whom most had late in the 1st if a 1st at all, over Hloti Ngata.
Ghost of Rob Johnson Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I'm kind of on Dante's side on this one. I entered, but I knew exactly what he was doing: if no one got them exactly, he wasn't giving them away. The rules were stated, close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
mrags Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Donte is a f$*king tool. Its a joke that he is on this team, and considered a leader.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Whitner has TOO much time on his hands! If I was in his shoes I would have made the contest something like, who ever donates the most money to Haiti relief or to a charity like Hunter's Hope will win the tix. Obviously he isn't going so whats he going to do with the tickets?? Watch him pull a Mike Tice and get caught scalping them Edit: I say get caught because I don't think he is smart enough to pull it off and get away with it
DaGimp Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 i don't care if he did this or not...the guy sucks and needs to be off this team
metzelaars_lives Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Man, he sure commands a lot of attention for a backup safety.
Buffalonian-at-Heart Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Donte is a f$*king tool. Its a joke that he is on this team, and considered a leader. I think he may be the only one that considers himself a leader. He was a vocal leader a couple years ago, but soon after his teammates saw he couldn't play, they stopped listening.
N.Y. Orangeman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Just dumb...nothing more, nothing less.
