Magox
I would say during these times that they are about as popular as tow truck drivers.
Nanker
Why aren't they buying them directly from Remington? They've got to go through a middleman?
finknottle
Why aren't they buying them directly from Remington? They've got to go through a middleman? Small-business set-aside. Basically, they need an 8(a) company to be a pass-through and add their cut to the contract.
Jim in Anchorage
Submit quotes including 11% Firearms and Ammunition Excise Tax (FAET) and shipping to Washington DC. Or we will blow your head off.
John Adams
Or we will blow your head off. Even Tom might applaud that.
HereComesTheReignAgain
Why aren't they buying them directly from Remington? They've got to go through a middleman? Maybe their FFL application hasn't gone through yet. Probably sitting on some judges desk for the last 15 months.
RkFast
Maybe the agents kept saying to themselves "We should have shotguns for this type of deal."
Alaska Darin
The best part is they're 4.5" shorter than is currently legal for the populous. Nothing better than "revenuers" with sawed-off shotguns a knockin'. I'm sure that's what the Founding Fathers envisioned.
Keukasmallies
The IRS needs shotguns in order to collect from corporate America.

outsidethebox
I noticed that also. Whats next, the IRS puts in a request for brass knuckles and switchblades? I personally like bars of soap in a sock. Or even the tried and true rubber hose.

Frit0 Bandit0
If any agency should be concerned about security, it's the IRS. I can just imagined the thousands of threats they receive.
ExiledInIllinois
Where I work, the site was built in 1960 (Cold War)... If one was to go back and find and original site plan (I did)... They would find that the site was to be equipped with 2 handguns (If I remember correctly ".44 revolver.") and shotgun (riot gun). Nobody, including the old-timers remember what happened to those weapons. I think they got feet and walked away. On another note... Working at a federal site... It is always a magnet for the crazy conservative (sorry couldn't resist that jab... I suppose liberal too! ) types... There has been numerous bomb-threats and other types of threats through the years... Most recently was after 911... A caller threatened the USCG too... One time they had to evacuate their coast guard station... The threat moved on to us and then commercial shipping. He would get on the marine radio (VHF-FM, channel 16) and threaten to shoot the pilots out of their pilot house. The tow pilots didn't like that... Many being from down south openly admitted that they were packing too. It got so bad through that spell that they were trying to triangulate the caller's position... He must have been on a protable. Even harder because there are some "dead spots" on the river... We would pick up a transmission with our big antenna... Yet the Coast Guard would not get the signal all the time (and they have bigger/better equipment).
