DDD Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Let the discussion begin. Zach Thomas was a brick wall. Just ask Willis McGahee.
VanCity Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 It's a good thing. Zach has had as many concussions as most anyone in the league and the more we learn, the better the players will be protected. I'm sure there will be jokes, but I applaud his decision.
KD in CA Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Good for him. They need a few more guys to do the same to maximize the research potential.
papazoid Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 kudos to zach.......he had alot of impact hits to the head......his donation will help lead to protect and benefit players of all ages.
blogic2 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 As a traumatic brain injury researcher, I see the value of this registry. However, I hope these guys live long fruitful lives so their brains will not be available for study for a few decades and then the aging process and possibly disease may obscure the analysis. I hope that the NFL will fund basic scientific research so that we can address this issue much sooner and make football safer for players at all levels.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Well he's only 36 years old. He's lived just half his life. What's he gonna do for the rest of his life without a brain? Bad move IMO.
