There are several variations, but the basic recipe is layered sherry soaked sponge cake, vanilla custard, fresh fruit, preserves, nuts and whipped cream. Set up and chilled for a good 24 hours or so to let the favors blend. Very rich.

Very rich....very good.....and very British. It's also popular with the Aussies.

You and I would probably enjoy dinner together.

My favorite dessert I ever had was Red Velvet Cake. A friends mom made it and I've never seen or heard of anyone making it again. If anyone is familiar with this, I would love a recipe.

I have a couple. Good choice. When I get some time to dig it up, I'll post it to Fezmid's cookbook.

I was in the Finger Lakes region today, usually you see several roadside signs for Grape Pie. Today, none. I was disappointed because I wanted to pick one up for Thanksgiving.
