BillsNYC Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 http://www.buffalosportsdaily.com/2010/01/...os-will-return/ Good news.
Glass To The Arson Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Good. He did a great job with our D-backs.
BillsNYC Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 But....but...what about Chuck Lester?
5 Wide Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Good move by the Bills..... I wanted to see Bob Sanders stick around too....
wonderbread Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Looks like Ralph must have learned how to say his name.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Excellent move! He's really helped our secondary tremendously. I'm sure picking a thousand DBs in the Draft helped as well...
Hammered a Lot Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 But....but...what about Chuck Lester? I have not seen his silver suv drive by my house in weeks.
Estro Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Catavolos and Bobby April were the two assistant coaches I wanted retained. I guess one back is better than none. The secondary, IMO, is the only unit on the Bills that is above average. Whether or not that is because of Catavolos or because we use an unusually high number of our picks on the secondary and had a head coach who was a DB is anyones guess.
Bill from NYC Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Excellent move! He's really helped our secondary tremendously. I'm sure picking a thousand DBs in the Draft helped as well... Freaking great!
Chandler#81 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 With no DC yet named, wouldn't this be indicative of continuing the 4-3/Tampa II? "The job was even more impressive considering major secondary injuries to Leodis McKelvin, Donte Whitner and Bryan Scott." So, were the injuries major or secondary in nature?

Bufcomments Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Great move , I was hoping he and Sanders were retained.
Buftex Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Take it FWIW, but I am hearing (from a source I will not name, believe me or don't, just to stick with the theme around here), not only is Catavolos staying, so too is D-line coach Bob Sanders. Bruce DeHaven will return to Buffalo as special teams coach, and, Buffalo legend Chuck Lester has already been given his walking papers....the jury is still out on Alex Van Pelt, but it is more than likely that he will not return.
Tortured Soul Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 On the one hand, he did a good job with the secondary. On the other hand, 31 other teams picked over our coaching staff and hired Fewell, Kugler, April and Studesville to equivalent positions and left Catavalos exactly where he is.
dgrid Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 With no DC yet named, wouldn't this be indicative of continuing the 4-3/Tampa II? any scheme still needs a secondary coach. he is coming back as defensive backs coach right?

Cheers, finaly some good news for once, maybe nix and chan do know what they are doing, I mean all the DBs were getting in on the ints.
