PDaDdy Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 This worst ever stuff is way over the top. There are tons of comparable examples. What about this chestnut? 4) 1981 Playoff Game at Shea. Bruce Harper fumbles opening kickoff of Jet first playoff game in 12 years. Bills pick it up and run in for a touchdown. Discombobulated Jets fall behind 24-0. Jets still nearly come back and snatch a victory. Todd drive Jets to Bills 2 yard line with 10 seconds left, but is picked off by Bill Simpson to end the game. This was the Sack Exchange Jets, and probably the best Jet team besides 68, 69 and 98 Jets. 1981 Jets were a legitimate Super Bowl contender. One wonders how far this Team would have gone if that first play had never happened. Thanks Bruce. Ughhh. Check out this great site: http://www.jetsinsider.com/news.php?storyid=43 Who is Todd again? LOL Regardless of who he is he isn't the QB that held all of the records at the time, retired twice, only came back to get a team over the hump to the superbowl. How far behind were the Jets on the 2? Apparently a field goal wasn't enough for a go head score to waltz into the superbowl.

It was an epic game - one of the most memorable in Bills history. Richard Todd is well known to many Bills fans ...

Check out this great site: http://www.jetsinsider.com/news.php?storyid=43 I remember the game like it was yesterday. Like Kelly, Flutie, and others mentioned, they needed a TD to win....In this case, and in the Sipe case, a field goal could still win it, but you didn't give them that chance.
bbb Posted January 27, 2010 Author Posted January 27, 2010 Go back and look at the replay... it is a myth that Favre could have gotten more than two or three yards running it on this play...btw- it would have been a 56 yard attempt, if Favre had thrown the ball away...if he runs it (he would have gotten tackled before getting far) he might have been able to make it a 53 yard attempt... did you see the play? This guy actually drew what he thinks he would have gained. The Vikings announcers think he had 5-6 yards to gain, and they are classic:
KD in CA Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 This guy actually drew what he thinks he would have gained. The Vikings announcers think he had 5-6 yards to gain, and they are classic: None of the Saints would have moved on him until he crossed the LOS, and since they were keeping WRs in front of them, those receivers would have been in position to block. If he runs toward the sideline, he makes the 35 easily. 50-52 yards in a dome for a kicker like Longwell is probably a 60% shot.
