SDS Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 this weekend!!! you will probably have to login again. Sorry! Let's hope this is the final steps to stability. At least no one is suspending accounts here - we can run this machine into the ground if we wish! as always, keep an eye on things and report any problems.

SDS Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 it was a fairly rude switch wasn't it???? Hey, I figured not much was going on tonight, so let's just pull the plug and flick the switch!
eSJayDee Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Seems to be fine. (Yes, I did have to re-sign-in.) Don't know if it's relevant, but the root address at the top has the IP address instead of the usual URL. (This is my start-up page, FYI &/so I apparently got routed here fine.)

I am concerned that sometimes it takes 3-4 sec. to execute a command (but load is still very low). Not sure what that implies.
Fan in San Diego Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Looks good so far SDS. I guess your not interested in my offer. Where should I send my check?

MikeG Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 hey Scott, how come it automatically changes .gif files to .jpg files for avatars? My animated avatar is only 5KB... are we not allowed animated gifs anymore?

How annoying!
SDS Posted August 28, 2004 Author Posted August 28, 2004 we also need another RAM bump. That should hopefully cut down on the long page load times. I have a request in for the pricing. If it is too much then we will go with the faster machine with 2x the RAM.

Mike in Syracuse Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Can we still restrict "guest" posting? Also, since we're moving to a new server, can we ban people like T-Bone? It might not be a bad idea to ban that Rosen character, he seems to have bad board karma.
Dan Gross Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 Come on...let's test the load. Someone start a thread talking about how Losman demands to be traded if he isn't starting after he recovers from his broken leg....that ought to do it! and I thought Jay Rosen was banned...I haven't seen him post since the software change....
