to be fair, i have no issue with how ESPN or any other website or publication runs an AP story, so long as the AP is credited, as it was here.

my intention was simply to point out to the OP that his initial thread title, which referred to this as an ESPN story, was incorrect. since that's been clarified, there's really no big deal. and i do have very much respect for Tim Graham, with whom i've had the pleasure of working alongside in many press boxes and, afterward, closed a bar or two.

absolutely no "fight" there.

I would say that the way this is put together, it seems ESPN is claiming that they at least did a write-through. Note, it say only that, "Information from The Associated Press was used in this report."

Of course, as of which I am sure John is all too aware, writing for a wire service guarantees much of your work will be seen without your byline. That, in part, is what ESPN pays The AP for.

Aside from all that, I like the article a lot. True, those of us who follow this closely pretty much knew this info. But this was needed in light of the reports yesterday that the new crew at OBD is already set on keeping Tren in the starting slot.

Exactly... ESPN PAYS THE AP. They also do attribute the info to the AP... I'm sure ESPN's check clearing each month soothes the writers who don't get the byline.
