dancing_joker Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Just heard on the radio that Gailey was going to be Cowher's OC and assistant HC. That's the most encouraging thing I've heard all day about him.
dancing_joker Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 the fact that he is linked to cowher is way more interesting than the news conference itself. it deserves its own thread.

Mr. WEO Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Just heard on the radio that Gailey was going to be Cowher's OC and assistant HC. That's the most encouraging thing I've heard all day about him. He was, huh? I missed that quote from Cowher himself.
Sisyphean Bills Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As a philosophy question, would you rather build the Bills on the Steelers model or the Colts?
JDG Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Indeed, Gailey was Cowher's choice as successor in Pittsburgh... and it was definitely an open secret that Cowher planned on Gailey being his OC. JDG
dancing_joker Posted January 19, 2010 Author Posted January 19, 2010 He was, huh? I missed that quote from Cowher himself. our old friend Tim Graham makes mention of this very point in his story http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4838361
Doc Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 The hiring left me apathetic. Hearing Cowher wanted him as ANC/OC/ makes me feel a little better. But the proof will be in the pudding.
Bills Fan in MD Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Just heard on the radio that Gailey was going to be Cowher's OC and assistant HC. That's the most encouraging thing I've heard all day about him. Why is Cowher's opinion of who would make a good HC relevant? Cowher is a proven winner as a coach and as someone who knows how to hire quality assistants. That said, I'm not sure how that translates into an ability to pick someone who can be a successful head coach. I'm glad that he has faith in Gailey, but frankly I'm not sure how much that actually means.
Poeticlaw Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As a philosophy question, would you rather build the Bills on the Steelers model or the Colts? Steelers Model. Run first offensive serves best in cold environments and if he brings the 3-4 defense as well it would greatly improve our overall chances of succeding VS the Colt offense which is suited for warm weather and Domes and the defens we cant stand to watch.
Mr. ChumChums Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 As a philosophy question, would you rather build the Bills on the Steelers model or the Colts? Definitely Steelers model. You could argue that the Colts are only good because of their QB. But the Steelers are fundamentally sound on all levels of the field. And their style of play would fit very well in Buffalo.
cliffordhicks Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 great. cowher wanted him as our OC. okay great, OC!! but HC>?>>>>???!!??! cmon!!!!
