stuckincincy Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I noted on the NFL Gamebook play-by-play, that Jason Peters got some playing time. They cite the 3rd quarter recovery of Flower's muffed punt, credited him with the key block on WMG's 41yard run (3:37 3rd qtr), and a holding call (at 3:21 3rd quarter). Anyone pay some extra attention to how he did? Just spot duty?
Thailog80 Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 He recovered a fumble and had a penalty called on him. I did hear him report as eligible on one series. Honestly I didnt see him a lot just here and there.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 I'm sure he left a BIG impression on the guys he hit!
Realist Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 They said he played on Special teams and made some key blocks.
Mark VI Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Played on Special Teams and was a Tackle Eligible on multiple plays as an extra Blocker/TE. Made 2 tackles on ST's and recovered the "Eric Flowers fumble" ( snicker ).

They put him in as LG in the series where McGahee destroyed them down the left side. The holding call on him was weak, as #21 was already past the guy who Peters was holding. He just needs to learn to let the guy go when the runner passes and will never get flagged.

I am happy to finally say "I told you so!"
PIZ Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 How was that guy ever a TE? The guy is a monster.
stuckincincy Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 IIRC, a lot of pre-draft boards had him going around the 3rd round. The image of a 300 pounder at speed tangling with a defensive back is "you-fill-in-the-blank"!
col_forbin Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 He took 80 percocet before the game, and was seen later smoking crack. Nice Job Jason!!!
BillnutinHouston Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 The TV commentators mentioned that he played some at tackle, but I have to review the tape to see for myself.
