The arguments used to discredit Frasier are idiotic

Recommended Posts

Frazier played for Buddy Ryan, coached for Jim Johnson, Marvin Lewis and Tony Dungy so he has been around the best defensive coaches in the NFL over the last 25 years. It would be inaccurate to describe him as simply a cover -2 coach.

the big question is what did Frazier do before he became DC of the Vikings who were already a good defense before he got there?

he also runs the Cover 2 which most Bills fans have come to hate

How about Tony Sparano last year for one? Good enough start? IF we are to take a chance on an unproven coach, some of us would prefer to look for someone who gets more out of less, instead of a coach who is doing pretty well, with a loaded roster.

Thus, you have Jim Harbaugh, who's work in college is turning around pure dogschitt, into gold. The Bills can not whiff on this next selection. Period. There is a bigger whiff factor with Frazier, because he is working with a ton of talent than some other coaches.

That's all. Pretty sound argument if you ask me. Frazier might be a solid head coach. However, he is an immense risk in the Bills situation. Unfortunately, he pretty much looks like the Bills only choice.

If you can't reason through why Frazier is a huge risk because of his roster in Minnesota, well, you fit right in with the Bills organization over the last ten years.

Well said.

Frazier's defense is very good, but there are better defenses in the NFL with lesser talent. If the objective is to hire a great coordinator I'm not sure he is that. On the defensive side of the ball, creativity, generating pressure with blitz packages.....these are the things that set the best apart from the rest. Frazier is more of a line them up and play coordinator, calling into question whether he is a great tactician.

But even being the best coordinator does not mean he will make a even a reasonably competent HC, which is the real problem most people have. They want someone who has proven they are a winning HC.

So in two regards, there are strong arguments against Frazier.

If Mike in Syracuse can't understand that, then so be it.

maybe frazier is the best guy for the job, and you guys have a different reason for not wanting him to be our HC.

its not like he's gonna request the vikes cut or trade all their good defensive players, not much he can do about that, but that doesnt mean he's not a good strategist. Also, some teams blitz because its the only way to get penetration, kinda like a rapist mentality, they just gotta force their way in, but minn doesn't have that problem, their front 4 gets thru without gimmick blitzes most of the time, so maybe he's better than those other blitz happy guys. just sayin

While coordinating a defense with considerably less talent, Frazier wasn't able to get more out of what he had, and was subsequently fired as a defensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals. Perry Fewell did more with less, than Frazier did with his "devoid of talent" Bengal roster.
