haus Posted January 15, 2010 Share Posted January 15, 2010 The Buffalo Bills need to come out and make a announcement that they are in control of the coaching hunt situation and are in no hurry to find the next HC. Explaining how they hold the cards and are simply waiting for the playoffs to wind down so they can make the right decision. I dont believe they should hire one to quickly incase a better option could have been had later. They never give interviews to the paper or WGR, and even Chris Brown doesn't get more than 5 minutes with Buddy Nix. I think there's a danger that a statement like that could come off as a desperate plea for credibility and could weaken their position. Someone who is genuinely in control doesn't feel the need to say so. Not to say that anyone is panicking yet at OBD, but it's probably not best to draw attention to the fact that the options are dwindling somewhat. Management doesn't help the cause by making strange decisions, like cancelling a ring ceremony without even telling their HOF RB who happens to have a 2 hour show Monday's on WGR. Couple that with the lack of information on the DJ extension in late 2008, retaining DJ in December 08, or firing the coaching staff and trying to say they weren't fired but free to look for work. Even when people attempt to speak with RW, he's closely guarded by the likes of Scott Berchtold, VP of Communications. It's a sad thing when they're afraid of what their owner might say. Maybe they're like all of us... sitting around refreshing these boards hoping for the first glimpse of a new coach hire, instead of working. Only problem is, it still hasn't set in that they're the ones supposed to be doing the hiring that they're waiting on the internet to read about.
