ExiledInIllinois
you do realize that is sinagpore, don't you? or did i miss the sarcasm button I know where it is and got the sarcasm... But on aother note... E-coli does account for beach closings all along this area of Lake Michigan. The main reason they reversed the flow of the rivers around Chicago over 100 years ago was due to sanitary conditions and the bouts of cholera. Even now, if Chicago has to close the rivers down... There will be more beach closing because of bacteria... We won't be able to flush the crap away. IMO, we are trading a BIF if with regard to a silly fish (silver carp) for a certain ecologcal and economic disaster that will happen immediately if they close the controlling works down. Navigation was an economic by-product of reversing flow. Back to the thread... I wouldn't be surprised to see suits like this pop up here in the states.
