Chandler#81 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Here in the 'Nooga, we've seen a $.30 rise in 10 days, to $2.70/gal, with no end in sight. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I long for the days when they added BS reasoning: Hurricanes, expected heavy vacation seasons, etc. According to this little item, $3.00+/gal is just around the corner... AGAIN! http://money.cnn.com/2010/01/11/news/econo...rices/index.htm Bastages!
Just Jack Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 According to this little item, $3.00+/gal is just around the corner... AGAIN! Saw $3.09 near NYC yesterday. Surprisingly, the farther out I went on Long Island, the cheaper it got, even cheaper than Syracuse, $2.83 vs $2.89
BuffaloBud Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Gas is traded worldwide on the US dollar. As the value of the dollar has moved up or down, then the price of gas moves.
/dev/null Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Weak dollar plus an increased demand for heating oil as a result of the current cold spell has driven the price of a barrel over $80
dib Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 it's called: BOHICA bend over here it comes again. It's the big thank-you from the Middle east from saving thier collective arses from Iraq.
Lt. Dan's Revenge Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Paid $2.95 yesterday at the same station that I paid $2.81 at last week. Gotta get rid of this damn SUV.
Endzone Animal Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Global cooling raising the price of heating oil.
Hammered a Lot Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Shingle prices going up 5-7% in Feburary. Around here that means $100 a square for a good quality 30 year shingle.

We do millions of tons of asphalt shipped through just our little section of the Illinois Waterway... Just wait till that asphalt can't be shipped anymore via that method... The price should go up higher.
