BillnutinHouston Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Link I like this idea - family ties to Nix, history of working with Brees and Rivers in SD, kick a divisional opponent in the cujones.

CountDorkula Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Makes me excited, maybe this is the guy who "The bills wanted" remember when all that surface, did we even figure out names. Here is to hoping.
Phlegm Alley Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 While it is not my 1st choice, I think he could be a solid HC. Like you said, with Schotty Jr on board, Schotty Sr would be involved, either directly or indirectly and considering Nix and Schotty Sr's relationship, I think it may be the next best thing to actually having Marty. He has had the history of developing quality young QBs and, with Sanchez this year, he has put the Jets in position to be successful. A lot of this is attributed to the quality offensive line they have built, which has directly impacted the running game in a positive way. A good offense predicated on running the ball is how I believe a successful Buffalo Bills team should be built, IMHO. I just hope they can catch lightning in a bottle and hit on one of these "up-and-coming" coordinators, because it is becoming pretty obvious that Cowher isn't coming here.
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The guy in charge of the league's 31st passing attack as our next head coach? When is the parade?
bills_fan Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Unless he brings Daddy to coach the team, forget it. Give me the Grimm reaper!
Bill from NYC Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Link I like this idea - family ties to Nix, history of working with Brees and Rivers in SD, kick a divisional opponent in the cujones. Count me in!
quikchomp Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The guy in charge of the league's 31st passing attack as our next head coach? When is the parade? How did the rushing attack rank?
CountDorkula Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 How did the rushing attack rank? 1 .....I WIN!!!!!
BLZFAN4LIFE Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 How did the rushing attack rank? Pretty good.
Beebe's Kid Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 How did the rushing attack rank? Well, that's just not a fair question...with a once in a lifetime talent like Thomas Jones. That is complete sarcasm. Give me a Schott and a bear....Hell, I'll take two Schotts, what do ya say Marty?
RayFinkle Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The guy in charge of the league's 31st passing attack as our next head coach? When is the parade? the guy is in charge of the league's 1st rushing attack and is now going into his second playoff game with a rookie at QB....
BillsGuyInMalta Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 How did the rushing attack rank? Damn, beat me to it! I'll be honest, I'm not as high on Brian Schottenheimer as I am on say Russ Grimm or Ron Rivera. Someone posted a really convincing argument for him a few days ago though and it did slowly start changing my mind on him.
BUFFALOTONE Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 How did the rushing attack rank? Lets trade OL's and then i will side with you. Sadly the guy who gets credit for that works in Cleveland as their HC. Lets all get our facts strait, it starts with the draft. Pass on Schottenhoozer.
GG Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Keep checking those flights to the Morristown Airport on Thurs or Fri
clancynut Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Some positives about this: 1. He has worked with Buddy Nix in the past, so there is a good relationship between them. 2. He has worked with great QBs Brees and Rivers. 3. Sanchez showed a lot of improvement this year. 4. His Dad should be involved with the team in some capacity. Negatives 1. He is not Bill Cowher

Coach Tuesday Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I just wonder how much of his success is attributable to Callahan. Maybe he would bring Callahan along as his OC, but I doubt it (I'd guess Callahan would get promoted and prefer to stay as OC of the Jets).
