Fingon Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...o-fill-stadium/ That stadium would be packed the moment they opened the gate, if it were Buffalo.

Fingon Posted January 10, 2010 Author Posted January 10, 2010 Um, ... the Bills didn't sell out the comeback game against the Oilers. The NFL is far different than it was 17 years ago. Non-sell outs were common, today they are not.

RayFinkle Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I hate the Pats* as much as the next guy, but holy non-story batman. The game is a sellout but because some season ticket opted not but playoff tickets, and there may be additional security delays because it is a national game, there "MIGHT" be empty seats? Garbage article...
mousetrap08 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Um, ... the Bills didn't sell out the comeback game against the Oilers. I was there drove 70 miles in frezzing rain that morning.
dave mcbride Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 The NFL is far different than it was 17 years ago. Non-sell outs were common, today they are not. Good teams always sold out then. It was pretty much the same, not different.
timbuk3 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 And they were just booing them! Anyone else enjoying watching the Pats getting spanked?
mousetrap08 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Good teams always sold out then. It was pretty much the same, not different. thats very true
nucci Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Um, ... the Bills didn't sell out the comeback game against the Oilers. Yes they did. Just not in time for local TV.
Dan Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 IMO, what makes them bad fans is the constant booing everytime the Pats* don't do something perfect.
Fingon Posted January 10, 2010 Author Posted January 10, 2010 thats very true Actually, no it's not. I'm willing to bet that if you looked at the number of black outs per year, you would see that there were FAR more back then. EDIT: 31% of games were blacked out during the 1990's, while only 8.5% were blacked out in the 2000's. http://www.cnbc.com/id/32406523

Ray Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 And the Bills not selling out an 80k seat stadium because they "only" sold 77k tickets is somewhat ridiculous. The New England market is top 5 in the US with only a 68k seat stadium. Remember it is actually closer to Providence then Boston so add in ALL of New England....CT, NH, VT, MA, RI.....that is a huge population base for a small stadium.

dave mcbride Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Yes they did. Just not in time for local TV. No, I recall about 75,000 tickets being sold. I can't find the attendance on the web, but I watched while in NYC and distinctly recall seeing a good number of empty seats.
