BuffaloRebound Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I like the fact that he knows the AFC East. Playing Belichik twice a year can expose many a coach.
Maddog69 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I think this one has legs. Cowher remains the top choice but Schottenheimer has the family connection to Nix, professional ties from San Diego, the offensive mind and history of developing young QBs that Nix is looking for. Exactly. I think they will wait for Cowher until Schottenheimer is available (which will probably be next week after losing to Indy). If Cowher does not say yes by then, I think we get Brian as HC and Marty as Asst HC or something like that. I could live with that. I don't want Frazier.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I don't get folks. One day nobody wants Schottenheimer. Now the Jets win a playoff game, and B. Schott did call a good game, and everyone likes him? I read so many post yesterday where people thought he was too young, or quoting Jets fans who don't like him as reasons for him not being hired as the coach. LoL. No fan base likes their coaches. Even when they get them to the playoffs! Ha! And Offensive Coordinators seem to be particularly unpopular in general. The Jets are a stacked team, with Sanchez in his second year they are sure to be good again. He is in the #1 market in the country and has already said he is happy. He stays another year and next year he will be the hotest available coach on a year where there are many good teams/organizations looking for a coach. Well, as we all know, Brian Schottenheimer has everything to gain and nothing to lose by mentioning how happy he is to be with the Jets.
