47Yards Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Ryan Miller is looking like a lock to keep the Sabres in contention for Buffalos first ever championship! Let's not make plans for any parades yet. Did anyone else catch Miller sucker punching the Leafs guy to the ice? He got a 2 min minor for it, but he sent the message that he wasn't going to allow the opposition to mess around with him.
Beastly Dareus Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Myers has more points than Vanek and is just what the Sabres needed this year. Vanek hasn't been the same since his injury last year. He was leading the NHL in goals before that injury. Hopefully he gets back into the rhythm he was in early last season
murra Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Vanek hasn't been the same since his injury last year. He was leading the NHL in goals before that injury. Hopefully he gets back into the rhythm he was in early last season It was a jaw injury though. How would that affect him?

Beastly Dareus Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 It was a jaw injury though. How would that affect him? God you love to argue and start crap like you have no life.... Did I F**** say that his injury was affecting him? NO... I said he hasnt been the same since that injury.
buffaloaggie Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Yes Zagrapan is such a bust... Hes 23 years old and will never be anything decent. His stats show what he is capable of. Hockey players do have off years sometimes. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=71297 2004-2005 32 goals and 50 assist (82 points) in 59 games 2005-2006 35 goals and 52 assist (87 points) in 59 games and pretty decent stats in the AHL Putting up "decent" stats in the AHL didn't get him a call up to the NHL for a reason. He is now trailing former Sabres Jakub Klepis (acquired as part of Varada deal and later dealt for Greer) and Jiri Novotny in points. BTW, look at the KHL link. There are quite a few names you'll recognize playing in that league like Federov, Zubov and Yashin just to name a few.
Beastly Dareus Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Vanek hasn't been the same since landing that 25 million dollar contract. Really he was leading the NHL in goals before his injury which was after he signed a 7 year 50 million contact..

Bills(70) Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Really he was leading the NHL in goals before his injury which was after he signed a 7 year 50 million contact.. Relax everyone. Vanek will be fine once Kovalchuck signs that 9 mil a yr for 7 years extension and Vanek gets traded in a package for him
47Yards Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Just trying to be positive,I hate all the negative BS! Ah, I'm just reacting to the talk on the boards back in 06-07 when everyone was busy planning the Niagara Square championship rally all season... Great to watch the Sabres win and play well; but watching Buffalo sports my entire life has tempered my enthusiasm making me a lifetime skeptic until the last tick of the clock.

Chalkie Gerzowski Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 and they are still young!!! as long as they keep everyone around, i smell a future dynasty. Miller, Vanek, Myers, Roy, Pominville, Gaustad, Kennedy, MaCarthur, Stafford, Butler all nice and young will be here a long time hopefully. And then Connelly, Tallinder, Rivet and Montador with veteran leadership hopefully here for awhile Not to mention 4 talented prospects: Brennan, Ennis, Enroth and Zagrapan Luke Adam, Jacob Lagace, Brayden McNabb, Corey Tropp and Paul Byron.
murra Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 God you love to argue and start crap like you have no life.... Did I F**** say that his injury was affecting him? NO... I said he hasnt been the same since that injury. I don't know how my comment triggered that reaction from you, but I was just commenting on how I thought the injury probably was a non-factor. I think Vanek has just slowed down into a different pace than he was once at, and he's not really able to keep up with the puck. It's hard to pick up points when you're behind the play.

Well it triggered such a reaction because you like to comment on such silly thinks and jump on other posters like someone offended you.

Stop being so offensive to something so little It's kind of useless trying to reason with you. I made a point that he is being outperformed by two other guys that couldn't stick with the Sabres, so there really is a reason that Zagrapan is not considered a top prospect anymore. People are not saying that just to make you go ballistic.

Zagrapan does have talent. If you look at what he has done in the past... Not based on his performance soley this year, like your doing.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Luke Adam, Jacob Lagace, Brayden McNabb, Corey Tropp and Paul Byron.
wonderbread Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Hes young and he has talent.. he was a 1st round pick. So was Mike Williams. Zagrapan doesn't have HNL skill.
Beastly Dareus Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 you clearly implied the injury slowed him; you are a d-bag Lol, yes im a d-bag (Im not the one throwing out personal insults to make an argument) And no I said Vanek hasn't been the same since his injury last year... That doesn't mean I implied that the injury slowed him down.
