plenzmd1
So, seems like a lot of coaches who normally would have been let go are being kept. Maybe I am reading to0 much into this, but I think most owners are thinking.."no way I am paying two guys in 2011 when we most likely will not even be playing!! " I mean Mangini, Fox, Morris, Smith..all guys I think would have been fired if Cowher wanted in and owners expected to play in 2011. Any thoughts? kota
All the more reason for Cowher to come in and get paid to do nothing!!!
Cash
There might be something to what you're saying, but I think the economy in general is a huge factor. Tampa's bottom line probably looked a lot worse than they're used to over the last year or two, which is one of the reasons they hired Morris in the first place (way too inexperienced = cheap), and why they're keeping him now. Albany,n.y.
Nobody expects any labor dispute to last the entire season. Worst case scenario is a 10-12 game season in 2011. If that happens every team is going to need a coach. The thought of not having a head coach going into 2011 is ridiculous.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch
I wonder at the end of the 2010 season if teams would fire their coach if desired, but not hire a new one until CBA is settled? They could all agree to it as a group. Can't claim collusion as no union involved with the coaches.
